Uninterrupted Service during
Construction
To allow for the least amount of community
disruption, early planning of the sequence
of construction, and emergency plans
for existing utility damage /failures due to
construction activities will ensure water and
sewer service throughout construction.
Regulatory Permitting
Early scoping meetings with agencies to
define permit requirements and schedule
for prompt submittal and approvals - such
as FDOT, SFWMD, MDPWD, FDEP, DERM,
and municipalities; this includes identifying
special construction activity limitations for
installing pump stations, stormwater systems
and pipelines under major roadways, and
traffic management.
Design and Construction Bid
Documents
Simplified value engineering analysis of the
project and possible alternatives; Preparing
plans and specifications in accordance
with City standards; Opinion of probable
construction costs based on historical bid
data; and finalizing and submitting permit
applications on behalf of the City based
City of Sunny Isles Beach
Coniinuing Professional Services for c "ngineenng
R, -"Q No. 1 = -07 -02
August 12. 20 14
on our experience with similar projects, and
given the general scope of work defined in
the RFQ, we envision the following three -
phased approach to the Project (Phase I -
Pre- Design; Phase II - Design; Phase III - Post -
Design) consisting of the tasks delineated
below. We welcome the opportunity to
further discuss and refine these tasks once
selected.
Phase I: Pre - Design
The Team will work closely with City staff to
develop the general alignment or location
for the Projects; identify possible easement
acquisitions, and evaluate connection
point alternatives with the least disruption
to system operation. Based on the general
alignment, the CES Team will perform the
following:
Collect and Review Available
Documents
We will collect as -built utility maps for major
facilities and will plot the utility information
to define potential conflicts and to aid in
the selection of alternative alignments.
Conduct Field Reconnaissance
We will make site visits in order to prepare the
preliminary technical approach provided
44
