Vazquez, PE, PH, BCEE <br />Technical Support <br />The Central Broward Water Control District is a local government <br />agency chartered by the State of Florida to provide secondary water <br />management and stormwater drainage in southwest Broward County. <br />Within its 45 square mile area, this special drainage district <br />incorporates almost 107 miles of canals that are located within 6 cities <br />and towns, as well as unincorporated areas of Broward County. <br />Under this contract, RJ Behar serves as one of two firms who serve as <br />District Drainage Engineers (DDE). As DDE, RJ Behar reviews plats, <br />applications for water management work permits, paving and drainage <br />plans, as -built plans, and permit renewal applications for conformance <br />with the District's drainage regulations, standards, procedures, and <br />design criteria. RJ Behar also provides other services including <br />drainage criteria, manual updates, special studies, data collection and <br />monitoring, computer modeling, geographic information systems, <br />master planning, design, permitting, cost estimating, construction <br />inspection services, facilities financing, facilities operations and other <br />services as directed by the District. Permit reviews are conducted and <br />verified against District criteria. RJ Behar also participates in the <br />District Board Meetings as representative to the District. <br />For this contract the deliverables mostly consist of comments to <br />submitted permit packages. The responses are reviewed with senior <br />engineers before submittal to the client.
