KEY PROJECT EXPERIENCE, Cont.
Rex Art Residences 9 -Story Structure with Basement Level Parking, Coral Gables, FL Performed a geotechnical engineering study
for the proposed 9 -story structure which included a basement level parking. Excavations were adjacent to the existing roadway
and a 4 -story building, and extended to depths of about 15 feet below existing grade. Excavation was within a few inches of the
existing building. Study included foundation analysis, and slope stability and excavation support analysis. Due to the proximity of
existing structure, an Auger Cast -in -Place (ACIP) wall was utilized to support the excavation to minimize vibration and potentially
use it as a permanent wall. Also provided consulting services for dewatering during construction. The ACIP wall was also utilized
as a cut -off wall to minimize dewatering impacts on the adjacent building. The heavy inflow of water at this site did not allow for a
conventional discharge system; injection well was constructed to discharge water from the dewatering operation.
Eden Lakes Park — Shade and Play Structure, Miami, FL Performed a geotechnical engineering study. Field work included a
Standard Penetration Test (SPT) boring. Provided detailed information regarding subsurface and groundwater conditions.
Provided geotechnical engineering recommendations for shallow foundation design.
9 -Story Douglas Rental (3 -Story Parking Garage with 6 Stories of Apartments Above) Coral Gables, FL Performed a the
preliminary geotechnical study for the proposed construction consisting of 3- levels of parking with 6 levels of apartments on top.
The project site encompassed about 1.5 acres. Field work consisted of drilling 8 Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings to a depth
30 to 50 feet below existing grade. Provided geotechnical recommendations for foundation design alternatives, i.e. shallow
foundation after proper site preparation vs. Auger Cast -In -Place (ACIP) piles. Also provided recommendations for below grade
walls, utilities, construction excavation /dewatering and other construction considerations.
HEFT All Electronic Toll (AET) Phase IV, Miami -Dade County, FL The project is to install All Electronic Toll equipment facilities at
Golden Glades Mainline Plaza and Dolphin Center Exit Ramp Plaza in Miami -Dade County, and at Hollywood Blvd and Griffin Rd
Interchange Ramp Plazas in Broward County. Currently providing geotechnical engineering services for the Roadway
improvements which include Widening of HEFT northbound ramp to Turnpike mainline, Minor widening at outside shoulder and
gore areas near the southern end of the project (south of Golden Glades Mainline Plaza) and at Griffin Road Ramp Plaza, A new
SB -WB exit ramp at Hollywood Blvd, Access driveways at the proposed Toll Equipment Structure (TES) locations, Toll equipment
gantries, toll equipment buildings, retaining walls, drainage improvements, overhead sign structures, and mast arms.
PD &E Study for the Improvement of SR S /US -1 from Cardsound Road to Florida's Turnpike, Miami -Dade County, FL Performed a
preliminary geotechnical study (roadway soil survey) for the PD &E study of the improvement of SR5 /US1 from Cardsound Road to
Florida's Turnpike.
Trail Glades Shooting Range (Phase 1, Package C), Miami, FL Performed a geotechnical engineering study for the proposed force
main to be constructed at the Trail Glades Shooting Range at 17601 SW 8th Street in Miami, Florida. Field work included Standard
Penetration Test (SPT) borings. Provided detailed information regarding subsurface and groundwater conditions. Also provided
geotechnical recommendations for excavations /backfill.
Bella Mare, Willilmas Island, FL Performed geotechnical study for the proposed 30 -story tower with a basement level. The project
is adjacent to the Dumbfounding bay. Excavations were adajacent to the bay and extended to about 10 feet below existing grade.
Geotechnical study included foundation and excavation support analysis. Sheet piles were utilized to support the excavation.
Plaza on Brickell, Miami, FL Performed geotechnical study for the proposed 57 -story and 44 -story towers. Excavations were
adajacent to existing structures and extended to about 15 feet below existing grade. Geotechnical study included foundation and
excavation support analysis. an Auger Cast -in -Place (ACIP) wall was utilized to support the excavation adjacent to the existing
building to the north and as a cut -off wall to minimize dewatering impacts on the adjacent building.
MDX Widening of SR 874 from SW 88" Street to SR 826, Miami -Dade County, FL The project is approximately 3 miles long. The
improvements include widening of both the northbound and southbound lanes of SR -874, and the southbound ramp to Kendall
Drive. The widening required Mechanically Stabilized Embankment (MSE) walls, Cast -In -Place (CIP) retaining walls, crash walls,
temporary sheet pile walls, noise barrier walls, culvert crossing, overhead signs and mast arms. The project also includes the
widening of the bridge over the Snapper Creek Canal Bridge. The existing bridge is a 3 -span bridge with an overall bridge length of
135 feet and supported on 18 -inch square concrete piles. The widening is to the west of the existing bridge.
Cordova Rodnguez 8 Assoc., Inc. RFQ# 14 -07 -02 55
