KEY PROJECT EXPERIENCE, Cont.
Ives Estate Park Improvement, Miami -Dade County, FL Provided subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering services for
a proposed development of soccer fields, parking lots, roadways, and pathways at Ives Estates Park. Provided most economical
solution for pavement and foundation design.
SFRTA 79th Street Metrorail Connector, Miami -Dade County, FL Performed geotechnical services for the project, which included
a platform and canopy for Metrorail connector at 79th Street. Field work consisted of Standard Penetration (SPT) borings.
Provided geotechnical recommendations regarding supporting the platform on shallow foundations, necessary site preparations,
footing bearing pressure /design, expected settlement, floor slab design, and a subgrade moisture barrier to prevent moisture
intrusion.
FIU Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum, Miami, FL Performed a geotechnical engineering study for a four -story, reinforced
concrete structure (46,000SF). Field work included twelve (12) Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings and two (2) Borehole
Permeability Tests (BHP). Provided a geotechnical engineering report detailing subsurface /groundwater conditions at the site.
Report included recommendations that the structure be supported on shallow spread foundations and employ conventional slab -
on -grade for the ground floor. Also provided geotechnical recommendations regarding the deck structure encroaching into the
existing lake; recommendations for the deck foundation were that it be supported on driven piles or augercast piles.
PD &E Study for the Improvement of SR S /US -1 from Cardsound Road to Florida's Turnpike, Miami -Dade County, FL Performed a
preliminary geotechnical study (roadway soil survey) for the PD &E study of the improvement of SR5 /US1 from Cardsound Road to
Florida's Turnpike.
MIC- Earlington Heights Metrorail Connector, Miami -Dade Transit (MDT), Miami -Dade County, FL Performed geotechnical
services for the MIC - Earlington Heights Metrorail Connector in Miami -Dade County. The project consisted of the construction of
the extension of the metrorail from MIC to Earlington Heights Station and the guideway structure was supported on deep
foundation system (drilled shafts & auger cast piles). As a geotechnical consultant for the Contractor, reviewed shaft and pile
installation data, load test results, pile /shaft integrity test results and performed capacity evaluation for those shafts and piles that
did not meet the design requirements and provided recommendation for foundation redesign.
Pedestrian Bridge over the Carol City Canal, City of Miami Gardens, FL Performed a geotechnical engineering study for the
proposed bridge to be located north of the existing NW 175th Street bridge over the Carol City Canal in the City of Miami Gardens,
Florida. Also performed pile capacity analyses for 14 -inch precast prestressed square concrete (PPSC) piles for the pedestrian
bridge. TSF provided report summarizing subsurface conditions, i.e. soil stratification /types and groundwater conditions, as well as
geotechnical recommendations regarding pile installation and axial capacity.
Dog Park, City of Aventura, FL Performed a geotechnical engineering study for the proposed dog park in the City of Aventura. The
proposed developments included a parking area, asphalt trail and drainage improvements. Field work included auger borings and
Borehole Permeability (BHP) tests. Provided recommendations for dewatering, excavation and the design of flexible pavement
structures as well as a storm sewer line.
Florida Turnpike (HEFT) Widening from SR 874 to SR 836 — PD &E Study, Miami -Dade County, FL Performed a preliminary
geotechnical including soil borings, exfiltration tests and double ring infiltration tests was performed to obtain preliminary
information on the existing subsurface conditions at the site to assist in the PD &E Study.
SW S71' Avenue Widening from SW 241h Street to SW 40" Street, Miami -Dade County, FL The project is a RRR improvement
project which also includes roadway widening to provide paved shoulders to SW 57`h Avenue from SW 24`h Street (Coral Way) to
SW 40" Street in Miami -Dade County, Florida. The study was performed to obtain information on the existing subsurface
conditions to assist in the design of construction plans for the proposed improvements.
SW 184" Street from Approximately 1200 Feet East of SW 1571h Avenue to Approximately 100' West of SW 1701" Avenue,
Miami -Dade County, FL Roadway improvement project which includes roadway widening to provide paved shoulders for SW
184th Street from Approximately 1200' East of SW 157th Avenue to Approximately 100 Feet West of SW 170th Avenue in Miami -
Dade County, Florida. Field Work included 20 auger borings, pavement cores from existing pavement, and exfiltration tests.
Provided Geotechnical recommendations and evaluation of the site and subsurface conditions with respect to the planned
roadway improvements and for site preparation and foundation construction.
