Prior to joining Keith and <br />Schnars, she worked for FDEP for 10 years where she reviewed the environmental resource <br />and wetland impact permit applications that were submitted through the FDEP West Palm <br />Beach office. Through her years with FDEP, Ms. King has a vast knowledge of the various <br />regulatory rules and statutes, has conducted numerous wetland assessments, and has <br />reviewed countless mitigation proposals and plans. <br />Relevant Experience <br />Academic <br />Background <br />Environmental Permitting for Seawall Stabilization at Port of Miami, Miami, FL: <br />M.S., Environmental <br />Project manager for 4 different seawall sections (4 separate permit applications) for the <br />Sciences, Florida <br />repair of the Port's seawall. The projects consisted of repairing approximately 8,000 linear <br />International University, <br />ft seawall in Government Cut/Biscayne Bay. The project included dredging directly adjacent <br />2002 <br />to the seawall and filling of surface waters to create a uniform line along the Port's shoreline. <br />The project was complicated by the discovery of delicate corals attached to many sections of <br />B.S., Environmental <br />the seawall, which required the Department to help the applicant seek alternate locations to <br />Studies, Florida State <br />relocate the corals. (10/03 to 6/13) <br />Professional Training <br />Environmental Permitting for Force Main under Biscayne Bay, Miami -Dade <br />FDEP Wetland Delineation <br />County, FL: Project manager for the permit application to replace a S4 -inch sanitary sewage <br />Training <br />force main pipeline via micro - tunneling under the Government Cut in Biscayne Bay. Ms. <br />FDEP UMAM Training <br />King reviewed and expedited the permit application as the existing pipeline had numerous <br />sections close to failing. The project entailed the review of coral impacts associated with an <br />in -water cofferdam for the project. Coordinated with other review agencies to determine <br />the appropriate mitigation methodology and plan to be utilized to offset unavoidable impacts. <br />Client/Contact: Miami -Dade County Water and Sewer Dept. /FDEP /Timothy Rach, Phone: <br />(850) 245 -8015. (10/03 to 6/13) <br />Wetland Compliance Monitoring at Everglades Restoration Area, Weston, FL: <br />Environmental Scientist - Ms. King conducts quarterly vegetation compliance monitoring of <br />a 42 -acre wetland mitigation area. This includes wetland flora and fauna sampling within the <br />freshwater marsh and tree island communities. The field data is then collected and compiled <br />in a quarterly monitoring report submitted to Broward County for review. Ms. King is also <br />responsible to construct, maintain, and repair established monitoring quadrats throughout <br />the field site. (2013 to Present) <br />Benthic Survey and Coral Rescue for Anglers Club Breakwater, Key Largo, <br />FL: Biologist that planned and conducted a benthic survey on a 'A mile long in -water riprap <br />breakwater. Prepared a benthic survey report documenting the presence of all coral and <br />seagrass species within the project footprint. Coordinated with FKNMS on permitting and <br />mitigation. (10/13 to Present) <br />Burrowing Owl Relocation, North Dade Optimists Club Park, Miami Gardens, <br />FL: Biologist that conducted surveys, marked burrows to prevent accidental damage during <br />construction, assisted with FWC relocation permit application, and constructed starter <br />burrows.
