cenennn..s..®.,a c <br />REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 14 -07 -02 <br />The Livable Neighborhoods Improvement Project includes approximately 222 <br />total acres of land subdivided among four separate sites: namely Garden <br />Circle, Kings Garden 1 & II, Kings Garden 111 and Vista Verde. The various <br />project sites are all located within the confines of N.W. 1831d Street (Miami <br />Gardens Drive), N.W. 2151h Street (County Line Road). N.W. 47th Avenue, and <br />N.W. 37s Avenue in the City of Miami Gardens. Florida. Significant amounts <br />of the existing roadway infrastructure within these neighborhoods are in a <br />dilapidated state, which warranted immediate attention to alleviate the <br />adverse conditions and conform to current standards. No storm water quality <br />treatment or quantity attenuation facilities were included in the initial <br />developments. which are apparent through the numerous drainage issues <br />observed. CTA prepared a Basis of Design Report (BODR) for the all the <br />neighborhoods (Garden Circle, Kings Garden 1 & II, and Kings Garden 111, and <br />Vista Verde) which identified major deficiencies and provided <br />recommendations for improvements. The purpose of the City of Miami <br />Gardens Livable Neighborhood Improvements Project (CMGLNIP) was to <br />analyze existing infrastructure of the community and recommend <br />improvements to upgrade or replace the existing facilities. This Basis of <br />Design Report (BODR) addressed the following elements within the CMGLNIP <br />study area to meet this goal: <br />• Stormwater Management • Landscaping <br />• Roadways & Sidewalks • Overhead Utility Lines <br />• Street Lighting • Permitting <br />The BOOR provided a conceptual master plan for the purpose of planning the implementation of the <br />improvements. and also to assist in developing the associated construction costs. Craven Thompson was <br />then retained to design. permit and construct the infrastructure improvements identified in the BOOR that <br />included streetscape. new storm sewer system and storm water quality treatment. street lighting and <br />landscaping improvements to select roadway corridors along with comprehensive storm water management <br />systems for each neighborhood, which included potential outfall options into nearby canal systems. To date. <br />Kings Garden I & II has been fully designed and constructed. Vista Verde Phase IA is currently in construction. <br />and Vista Verde Phase 1B is about to commence construction. CTA is also assisting the City in sourcing <br />funding and easement / right -of -way acquisitions to facilitate the design and construction of the remaining <br />neighborhoods. <br />CRAVEN THOMPSON & ASSOCIATES.
