Country Club Drive <br />Aventura, Florida 33180 <br />Phone: (305) 466 -8923 <br />Email: tomeit @cityofaventura.com <br />September 2010 <br />$452.788.00 <br />The Country Club Drive Exercise Path Improvements Project included the <br />design, permitting, coordination with FDOT for LAP Funding and <br />construction of improvements to upgrade the City of Aventura's exercise <br />path which extends along the entire length of Country Club Drive, located <br />east of Biscayne Boulevard and north of the William Lehman Causeway. <br />The project improvements included the reconstruction of the exercise <br />path and asphalt pavement overlay; construction of accessible ramps <br />and detectable warning surfaces; grading & drainage improvements; <br />installation of root barriers: guardrail repair; landscaping; and installation <br />of street furniture. The exercise trail is 10 -feet in width and extends <br />approximately 2.85 miles. In addition to serving as recreational path for <br />City residents, the Country Club Drive Exercise Path also serves as a <br />major pedestrian access way for the City. The pathway links the City's <br />eastern and northern residential areas with the City Governmental Center <br />as well as the commercial shopping district along Biscayne Boulevard. <br />Both the Miami -Dade County transit system and the City's local transit <br />system have bus routes along Country Club Drive. The proposed <br />improvements will improve pedestrian access throughout the City; <br />provide accessible ramps and detectable warning surfaces at all street <br />crossings and will enhance the City's recreational facilities. This project <br />was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
