BID TITLE: BID 19 -17 -12 -HR BID NUMBER: ROOFING MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS <br />ECTION 07512 — BUILT-UP ROOFING SINGLE MEMBRANE AND <br />MISCELLANEOUS ROOF REPAIR <br />(Continued) <br />PART 3 — EXECUTION (Continued) <br />3.07 METAL FLASHINGS. CAPS AND DRIP EDGES <br />A. Replace any defective metal flashings, counter flashings, drip edges, scuppers, <br />gravel stops, metal rain caps and copings as authorized by CITY <br />REPRESENTATIVE. Metal shall be copper, galvanized steel or stainless steel <br />and conform to minimum specified thickness as per the Drawings. All new metal <br />materials shall be of the same metal as existing abutting metal. Do not use <br />dissimilar metals. <br />B. All fasteners used to secure metal rain caps shall have watertight washers. <br />Caulking sealant for counter -flashings shall be a pliable non -hardening butyl <br />rubber. Repairs shall conform to one of the standard details for flashings, rain <br />caps, drip edges, gravel stops and parapet walls as shown on the Drawings. <br />C. AT PITCH POCKETS: <br />Fabricate pitch pans. Sides: <br />100 mm (4 inches) high, hemmed to outside at top edge. Flange: <br />100 mm (4 inches) wide, completely around periphery. Clearance <br />between projection and pitch pan: 50 mm (2 inches). Set flange in <br />mastic. <br />2. Pack gap between roof -penetrating element and deck with <br />compressible insulation. Seal with reinforcing membrane <br />embedded between alternate courses of asphalt mastic. <br />3. Nail flange to wood blocking 75 mm (3 inches) o.c., staggered. <br />4. Prime metal flange, projection, and pitch pan interior with asphalt <br />primer. <br />5. Install two (2) ply stripping described in general flashing <br />requirements section. <br />6. Fill pitch pan to within 25 mm (1 inch) from top with non -shrink <br />grout. Allow to set firm. <br />7. Fill pitch pan with asphalt mastic. Double fill if necessary. <br />8. Fabricate and install umbrella with draw band over pitch <br />pan. Tighten draw band. <br />9. Wipe clean top of umbrella and projection with metal cleaner. <br />Prime surface with metal primer <br />10. Caulk stack/sheet metal interface.
