Questionnaire Form
What is the timing for completion of reconciliations after receipt of input information from the
customer?
5:00 a.m. ET the following business day.
E.Should the City’s main accounts be the target of counterfeit drafts, what are your procedures to limit
losses to all parties concerned and what is the effect and cost to the City?
To identify counterfeit currency, TD Bank stores utilize dual hand count on all physical deposits
(along with Currency Counter). Counterfeit bills are identified prior to commingling different
deposit bags.
If the bill is determined to be counterfeit or is inconclusive, TD Bank will explain to the City that
we will need to send the bill to the Secret Service for further review. The review process takes
approximately 2-3 weeks. If the bill is determined to be genuine it will be returned to the store and
the customer's account will be credited for the amount of the bill.
Discrepancies in a check deposit total will be corrected by processing a debit or credit adjustment.
The adjusting debit or credit memo will be mailed to the City the next business day.
In correcting an error in the cash deposit total, the TD Bank location processing the deposit can
contact the City to report the discrepancy before the adjustment is applied.
F.Describe your process for resolving deposit discrepancies, especially when cash is in question.
The City should contact their Relationship Manager or our Treasury Management Services
Support (TMSS) within 60 days of any discrepancies in your Account Analysis statement. Your
account will be credited directly within three business days of notification. TD Bank must receive
notification prior to the 25th of the month in order to make corrections for the next statement.
The City also has the option to contact TMSS to follow up on resolving outstanding inquires in
the event of the absence of the City's Relationship Management Team.
The discrepancy amount will dictate how it is handled. Any discrepancy greater than $100 is
reported to TD Bank by the vendor. TD Bank will in turn notify the City of the discrepancy.
Please be advised that the City is responsible for researching any discrepancy less than $100.
All discrepancies are reported as a separate entry to the DDA account.
Proposed by: TD Bank, N.A.Page 81
