Where indicated or accepted, conform to AWS Dl .4 using AWS / WABO <br />Certified Welders, E9018 electrodes or as accepted by Engineer. Conform to <br />additional provisions of Section 05 5 000. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 PREPARATION <br /> <br />A. Clean reinforcing steel of loose rust, mud, dirt, debris, oil, and other foreign <br />substances that may affect bond. <br /> <br />3.2 INSTALLATION <br /> <br />A. Placement of Reinforcing Steel and Tolerances: Conform to IBC Chapter 19, ACI <br />318, and ACI 11 7. <br /> <br />B. Details of Placement and Support of Reinforcing Steel: Conform to ACI 31 5 <br />and CRSI recommendations, as shown on accepted placement drawing <br />submittals. <br /> <br />C. Displacement of Reinforcing: Where displaced, shifted, or moved to locations <br />exceeding allowable tolerances, prior to placing concrete: <br /> <br />1. Provide 48 hours' notice to Engineer. <br /> <br />2. Obtain acceptance for resulting arrangement. <br /> <br />D. Joints: Place reinforcement through expansion joints and as specified or <br />shown on Drawings through construction and contraction joints. <br /> <br />E. Allowable Cover Over Reinforcement: Conform to IBC Chapter 19 and as <br />shown on Structural Drawings. Where not shown, provide minimum 3- <br />inch cover. <br /> <br />F. Tie Wires: Bend or turn as necessary to prevent exposure of wires through <br />concrete placement. <br /> <br />G. Welded Wire Fabric: <br /> <br />1. Place continuously where shown in slabs between control and expansion <br />joints. <br /> <br />2. Do not carry through expansion joints. <br /> <br />3. Cut 1 / 2 of fabric through control joint s, except as otherwise shown on <br />Drawings <br />4. Extend across beams and walls.
