Project No. 2017-039.02 January 2019 036200-4
2. Wood forms must be sealed.

B. Non-Shrink Epoxy Grout:

1. Surface Dryness: All surfaces shall be kept completely dry before grouting.

2. Grout Removal: Surfaces from which grout is to be removed after placing shall be
treated with a paste wax or release agent before placement.

C. Non-Shrink Cement-Based Grout:

1. Composition: For interior column base plates not exposed to weather, grout containing
metallic particles such as aluminum powders or iron filings may be used. For any other
applications, the grout shall not contain metallic particles such as aluminum powders or
iron fillings or expansive cement.

2. Mixing: For grouting depths greater than three (3) inches, add 3/8" coarse aggregate
to the mix following manufacturer's recommendations. Use the minimum water
necessary for proper installation in accordance with flowability requirements and
manufacturers recommendations for specific applications.

D. Grouting Operation: Concrete surfaces shall be washed clean, then saturated with water for 24
hours prior to placement of cement-based grout. Excess water must be removed prior to
grouting. The placement of grout should be rapid and continuous so as to avoid cold joints.

1. Protect grout from external vibration caused by operating machinery for at least 24
hours.

2. Curing: Cover all exposed grout with wet burlap immediately after
placement.
