THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 014300 QUALITY ASSURANCE-2 <br /> <br />C. The presence or absence of a quality assurance inspector does not relieve Contractor from <br />any Contract requirement. <br /> <br />D. Promptly furnish all facilities, labor, and material reasonably needed for performing such <br />safe and convenient inspections and tests as may be required by Representative. <br /> <br />E. MDC may charge Contractor for any additional cost of inspection or test when Work is not <br />ready at the time specified by Contractor for inspection or test, or when prior rejection <br />makes re-inspection or retest necessary. All quality assurance inspections and tests will be <br />performed in a manner that will not unnecessarily delay the Work. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 APPLICABILITY <br /> <br />A. The responsibility for providing quality assurance disciplines for verifying the work is <br />performed in accordance with the Contract Document rests with the Contractor. The <br />Contractor's Quality Assurance Plan shall apply to the assurance of quality throughout all <br />areas of Contract performance as specified in this Section. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />A. The Contractor's Quality Assurance Plan shall be in accordance with this section and shall <br />include at a minimum: <br /> <br />1. Organizational chart indicating lines of authority and reporting relationship <br />including a Quality Assurance Manager and personnel. <br /> <br />B. Maintain an adequate inspection system and perform such inspections as will ensure that <br />the Work conforms to the Contract Documents. <br /> <br />C. Maintain complete inspections records and make them available at all times to the <br />Representative. <br /> <br />D. The Contractor’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control system shall consist of plans, <br />procedures, and organization necessary to produce an end product that complies with the <br />Contract Documents. The system shall cover all construction and demolition operations, <br />both onsite and offsite, including Work by subcontractors, fabricators, suppliers and <br />purchasing agents, and shall be keyed to the proposed construction sequence. <br /> <br />3.2 Quality Assurance Plan. <br /> <br />A. Three (3) copies of the Quality Assurance Plan shall be submitted to the Representative <br />and Architect/Engineer of Record for approval 20 days after Notice to Proceed, for review <br />and approval. <br /> <br />B. All work undertaken by the Contractor before approval by Representative and <br />Architect/Engineer of Record of the Contractor's Quality Assurance Plan will be at the <br />Contractor's risk and expense. <br />
