<br />THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 014529 Testing Laboratory Services-1 <br />SECTION 014529 <br />TESTING LABORATORY SERVICES <br /> <br />PART 1 – GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 REQUIREMENTS INCLUDED: MDC will select and pay for an independent Testing Laboratory to <br />perform the required testing. The Contractor will ensure all material test reports supplied by the <br />Testing Laboratory are complete, accurate, and document acceptable test results for all material <br />samples selected and tested. <br /> <br />A. The Contractor shall cooperate with the laboratory to facilitate the execution of the <br />Laboratory required services. <br /> <br />B. Employment of a laboratory by MDC shall in no way relieve the Contractor of its obligations <br />to perform the Work. <br /> <br />1.2 SCOPE OF WORK: <br /> <br />A. The Independent Testing Laboratory shall perform all tests required by the Contract <br />Documents, applicable codes, Manufacture’s recommendations, governing laws, rules and <br />regulations and those tests required for approvals by public agencies and authorities. <br /> <br />1.3 LIMITATIONS OF AUTHORITY OF TESTING LABORATORY: <br /> <br />A. The Laboratory is not authorized to: <br /> <br />1. Release, revoke, alter or enlarge on the requirements of the Contract <br />Documents. <br /> <br />2. Approve or accept any portion of the Work. <br /> <br />3. Perform any duties of the Contractor. <br /> <br />1.4 CONTRACTOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br />A. Notify laboratory sufficiently in advance of operations to allow for laboratory assignment <br />of personnel and scheduling of tests. Minimum 48 hours written advance notification <br />shall be provided. <br /> <br />1. When tests or inspections cannot be performed after such notice, reimburse MDC <br />for laboratory personnel and travel expenses incurred due to Contractor’s <br />negligence. <br /> <br />B. Cooperate with laboratory personnel; provide access to Work, and to Manufacturer’s <br />operations. <br /> <br />C. Secure and deliver to laboratory adequate quantities of representational samples of <br />materials proposed to be used and which require testing. <br /> <br />D. Provide to the Architect/Engineer of Record a preliminary design mix proposed to be <br />used for concrete, and other materials mixes which require control by testing laboratory <br />as specified in the Contract. <br /> <br />E.
