THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 084413 Glazed Aluminum Curtain Walls-3 <br />F. System shall comply with the Florida Building Code, 2001 Edition requirements for <br />hurricane wind resistance & impact resistance and shall have a valid NOA # from Miami- <br />Dade County Product Approval. <br /> <br />G. Installer: Manufacturer or its approved installer shall perform the installation work. <br /> <br />H. Perform work under this section under a single subcontract to insure unified responsibility <br />for the installation as an integrated system. Coordinate interface of separate systems. <br /> <br />I. Individual Component Systems: Produced by a single manufacturer, designed as a <br />coordinated installation capable of conforming to detailed requirements of the drawings <br />and produce a uniform appearance. <br /> <br />1.4 PERFORMANCE <br /> <br />A. Perform the following tests in accordance with the specified ASTM standards: <br /> <br />1. Water Penetration Test: ASTM E331. <br /> <br />2. Air Filtration Test: ASTM E283. <br /> <br />3. Structural Performance Test: ASTM E330. <br /> <br />B. Fasteners: Where exposed, aluminum or stainless steel, finished to match framework <br />members. <br /> <br />1. Perimeter Anchors: Aluminum or stainless steel, providing the steel is properly <br />isolated from the aluminum and primed in accordance with requirements of <br />Division 05, Section: Metal Fabrications. <br /> <br />C. Performance Requirements: <br /> <br />1. Air Infiltration: Tested in accordance with ASTM E283, not to exceed .06 cfm per <br />sq. ft. of fixed wall area. <br /> <br />2. Water Infiltration: Tested in accordance with ASTM E331. No water penetration at <br />a test pressure of 10 lb.f/sq. ft. <br /> <br />3. Structural Performance: Maximum deflection of 1/175 of the span without <br />exceeding allowable stress and a safety factor of 1.50 under wind loads prescribed <br />by the Florida Building Code, 2001 Edition. <br /> <br />a. Provide glazed aluminum curtain wall system with condensation resistance <br />factor (CFR) of not less than 55 when tested according to AAMA 1503.1. <br /> <br />4. Condensation Resistance: Provide glazed aluminum curtain wall system with an <br />average U-value of not more than 0.66 Btu/ sq. ft. x h x degree F when tested <br />according to AAMA 1503.1. <br />
