<br /> <br />THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 021100 -1 <br />SECTION 021100 <br />CLEARING AND LAND PREPARATION <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 SCOPE <br /> <br />A. Summary of Work: The CONTRACTOR shall include the removal of trees and other <br />vegetation from areas where earthwork or other construction operations specified herein <br />are to be performed. This section also includes land preparation activities for excavation <br />and fill areas. <br /> <br />1.2 APPLICABLE PUBLICATIONS: (Not Used) <br /> <br />1.3 DEFINITIONS: (Not Used) <br /> <br />1.4 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Prior to beginning the work, CONTRACTOR shall submit a detailed plan for clearing and <br />land preparation. The plan shall detail the sequence of work and describe the <br />CONTRACTOR's planned method of clearing and land preparation activities. <br /> <br />1.5 QUALIFICATIONS: (Not Used) <br /> <br />1.6 RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall ensure the safe passage of persons around areas of clearing and <br />land preparation. The CONTRACTOR shall conduct its operations to prevent injury to <br />adjacent structures, vegetation designated to remain, other facilities and persons. <br /> <br />B. Traffic: <br /> <br />1. The CONTRACTOR shall conduct its operations and the removal of cleared <br />materials to ensure minimum interference with existing access roads and other <br />adjacent occupied or used facilities. <br /> <br />2. The CONTRACTOR shall not block or otherwise obstruct access roads or other <br />occupied or used facilities without permission from the ENGINEER. Where <br />blockage is allowed, the CONTRACTOR shall provide alternate routes around <br />closed or obstructed traffic ways. <br /> <br />C. The CONTRACTOR may commence clearing or land preparation within portions of the <br />project falling within the limits of temporary construction easements or utility right-of-way <br />only with specific permission from the ENGINEER for each activity and location. All <br />requirements under A and B above apply within these limits. <br /> <br />1.7 CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTING: (Not Used) <br /> <br />1.8 INSPECTION COORDINATION <br />
