The United States Drug Enforcement Administration's <br />814 Special Operations Unit. <br />815 (g) Provide recommendations on strategies to increase the <br />816 number of available detention beds for use by the United States <br />817 Immigration and Customs Enforcement. <br />818 (h) Upon unanimous approval of the board, assist in the <br />819 collection of data from law enforcement agencies as required <br />820 under s. 908.1031(3)(e). <br />821 (5) The Department of Law Enforcement must provide <br />822 administrative support to the State Immigration Enforcement <br />823 Council. <br />824 Section 18. Section 908.1033, Florida Statutes, is created <br />825 to read: <br />826 908.1033 Local Law Enforcement Immigration Grant Program. - <br />827 (1) The Local Law Enforcement Immigration Grant Program is <br />828 created within the State Board of Immigration Enforcement to <br />829 award grants to support local law enforcement agencies, which <br />830 include chief correctional officers operating county detention <br />831 facilities, in their cooperation and coordination with federal <br />832 immigration agencies in the enforcement of federal immigration <br />833 laws. The board shall award any funds specifically appropriated <br />834 for the program to reimburse expenses or issue bonus payments as <br />835 provided in this section. <br />836 (2) A local law enforcement agency may apply to the State <br />837 Board of Immigration Enforcement for reimbursement of expenses <br />838 incurred in its cooperation and coordination with federal <br />839 immigration agencies in the enforcement of federal immigration <br />840 laws.
