ENROLLED <br />2025 Legislature <br />SB 2-C <br />20252Cer <br />871 payments, after considering recommendations of the State <br />872 Immigration Enforcement Council related to funding criteria. <br />873 (b) Upon receiving a submitted application, the executive <br />874 director of the board shall review the application to ensure <br />875 that it is complete. At least quarterly, the executive director <br />876 shall complete the review and make a recommendation to the board <br />877 for approval or denial of the application. <br />878 (c) A grant application recommended for approval by the <br />879 executive director must be unanimously approved by the board or <br />880 by the executive director if authorized by the board in rule. <br />881 Upon approval, the board must provide notification in writing to <br />882 the chair and vice chair of the Legislative Budget Commission at <br />883 least 14 days before a grant may be issued to a local law <br />884 enforcement agency under the program. Notwithstanding s. <br />885 216.177(2)(b), the chair or vice chair of the Legislative Budget <br />886 Commission may timely object in writing, which shall void such <br />887 action until the Legislative Budget Commission or the <br />888 Legislature addresses the issue. <br />889 (5) The total amount of grants awarded may not exceed <br />890 funding appropriated for the grant program. In order to <br />891 efficiently and effectively disburse the funds, the State Board <br />892 of Immigration Enforcement may not duplicate benefits and grants <br />893 may not be awarded to pay for any activity for which the agency <br />894 has received or expects to receive federal or other funding. <br />895 (6) Local law enforcement agencies shall assist the State <br />896 Board of Immigration Enforcement with the collection of any data <br />897 necessary to determine bonus payment amounts and to distribute <br />898 the bonus payments and shall otherwise provide the board with <br />899 any information or assistance needed to fulfill the requirements <br />Page 31 of 51 <br />CODING: Words are deletions; words underlined are additions. 264 <br />
