During session, our Tallahassee team maintains daily presence in the Capitol, ensuring immediate access to legislators, committee staff, and executive leadership. Our Miami office allows for rapid coordination with City leadership and Miami-Dade County officials. We provide same-day responsiveness during session, send weekly reports during the legislative season, and maintain continuous communication throughout the interim committee weeks, budget cycle, and special sessions. Policy Development, Strategic Guidance, Bill Tracking, and Legislative Analysis We assist clients in refining legislative priorities, drafting proposed statutory language, identifying viable bill sponsors, developing amendment strategies, and aligning requests with leadership priorities and budget constraints. Attending meetings with key City elected officials, administration, and department directors, we help our clients craft their legislative priorities with a focus on strategic planning and alignment with key stakeholders. Our team works proactively to position municipal priorities early in the legislative and appropriations process, recognizing that effective advocacy requires strategy and engagement well before session convenes. PLG also provides comprehensive bill tracking and monitoring services tailored to the City’s interests. With the combined experience and knowledge of our government affairs staff and attorneys, we are uniquely positioned to review pending legislation and provide insight into its potential impacts to the City. Representation Before the Florida Legislature, Congress, and Administrative Agencies PLG regularly represents clients before the Florida Legislature, congressional offices, executive branch agencies, and administrative bodies. This includes direct engagement with legislative leadership, committee chairs, appropriations staff, agency secretaries, and rulemaking authorities. We have experience navigating the state budget process, securing project funding, and advocating in rulemaking and regulatory proceedings that affect municipal operations. Engagement with Key Municipal Organizations The firm maintains active engagement with the Florida League of Cities (FLC) and the National League of Cities (NLC).
