Submitted August 2026 Page 16 <br />RFQ RESPONSE – City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />RFQ # 26-07-01 | CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL & <br />ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA) <br />2.4.2 Additional Relevant Experience <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />West Miami Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan <br />Staff Involved: Juan Calderon, PE, PTOE, RSP1, Daniel <br />Chacon, Audrey Cabay <br />Client: City of West Miami / Miami-Dade TPO <br />Client Project Manager: Francisco Alonso, PE, City <br />Engineer <br />Contact Information: (305)803-2569 <br />Cost of Services Provided: $55,531 <br />Term of Engagement: 2024 – Ongoing <br />Scope of Services: The City of West Miami received a <br />Municipal Grant from the Miami-Dade TPO to develop a <br />Complete Streets Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Plan in 2024. <br />CALTRAN is preparing the plan with conceptual designs, and policy and programmatic recommendations. <br />Our team conducted a multi-pronged data collection and analysis, including review of policies and design <br />manuals, to identify gaps and opportunities for enhancing multimodal safety. <br /> <br />STEP BY STEP TOWARD SAFER STREETS <br />CALTRAN staff led a walk audit in West Miami, engaging residents and stakeholders to identify <br />opportunities for safer crossings, better sidewalks, and multimodal connectivity as part of the City’s <br />Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Plan. <br />We benchmarked peer cities such as St. Petersburg, FL and Miami, FL for micromobility and Complete <br />Streets strategies, applying lessons to West Miami’s context. The plan included mapping of pedestrian, <br />bicycle, and transit facilities, Origin-Destination analysis showing that many trips were under two miles, and <br />crash analysis using Signal4Analytics to identify risks for pedestrians and cyclists. Engagement included a <br />resident survey, walk audit, public presentations, and ongoing traffic data collection (turn counts, <br />speed/volume studies, and signage inventory) <br />
