ALVARO SAENZ SHEEN, PE, PTOE, RSP1 <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER <br />PROFILE <br />Mr. Saenz Sheen has been involved in various planning, studies, and data collection projects. <br />He is experienced in conducting various types of traffic studies including traffic counts, vehicle <br />classifications, turning movement studies, speed studies, safety studies, travel time and delay <br />studies, traffic signal optimization, traffic calming studies, parking studies, vehicle gap studies, <br />and roadway characteristics inventory. <br />KEY PROJECTS <br />Pedestrian Crosswalk Upgrade and Relocation Traffic Evaluation (Miami-Dade County) <br />(2025) | As part of this traffic study, I was responsible to assess existing traffic and roadway <br />conditions. I analyzed and evaluated existing vehicular volume, crash data, pedestrian and <br />bicycle volumes within the study area. I evaluated the feasibility of implement a pedestrian <br />crossing at the uncontrolled approaches along Miller Drive/SW 56th Street at SW 63rd Avenue. <br />Finally, assisted in determining recommendations that included the installation of a marked <br />pedestrian crossing with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) at the uncontrolled <br />approaches on the intersection of Miller Drive/SW 56th Street and SW 63rd Avenue; Contact: <br />Ignacio Serralta, (305) 662-8887, ignacio@srs-corp.com. <br />FDOT D6 | SR-922/NE 125th Street from NE 8th Avenue to NE 14th Avenue Rd Signal <br />Retiming (2025) | As part of a contract with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), <br />I was assigned with the signal optimization of the SR-922/NE 125th Street corridor from NE 8th <br />Avenue to NE 14th Avenue Rd within Miami-Dade County boundaries. I conducted field reviews <br />to assess existing traffic conditions and operations to identify deficiencies and opportunities to <br />improve traffic conditions during the AM and PM peak period. I evaluated red, yellow clearance <br />intervals, and pedestrian clearance time to ensure adequate time was provided. Signal offsets <br />and time of day (TOD) schedules were evaluated to find any issues that could negatively affect <br />progression along the studied corridors. I provided recommendations for optimizing signal <br />cycles, offsets, and TODs to improve signal timing progression within the studied corridor. <br />Recommendations were based on traffic simulations using WaySync software, travel time data, <br />and field observations; Contact: Erik Echezabal, (786) 250-5526, <br />eechezabal@choiceeng.com. <br />Holland Park/The HueHub Traffic Impact Analysis, (Miami-Dade County) (2025) |In this <br />traffic study, I assessed existing traffic conditions and operations at crucial intersections and <br />segments impacted by this proposed mixed-use residential and commercial development <br />located at 8395 NW 27th Avenue. This development was approved under Florida’s Live Local <br />Act. I analyzed and evaluated traffic growth factors, trip generation, traffic distribution and <br />assignment, nearby committed developments, and existing turning movements counts. I <br />provided analysis and evaluation of existing and proposed traffic operations using synchro 11.0 <br />software. I conducted a turn lane analysis at the proposed development driveways and nearby <br />studied intersections to determine if implementation of turn lanes was required in order to <br />mitigate traffic impacts. I conducted an Intersection Control Evaluation following FDOT <br />guidelines and procedure. Finally, I provided conclusions and recommendations based on the <br />findings of evaluations mentioned above. (CALTRAN) to <br />conduct an assessment of the current pedestrian midblock crosswalk situated along S. <br />Bayshore Drive, just northeast of McFarlane Road that is being proposed to be upgraded. As <br />part of this traffic evaluation, I assessed existing traffic and roadway conditions.
