ALVARO SAENZ SHEEN, PE, PTOE, RSP1 <br />TRAFFIC ENGINEER <br />along SR A1A/Collins Avenue and Harding Avenue just north of SR 922 / 96th Street with the nearby signals on the studied <br />corridor. I assessed existing traffic conditions and operations at the two studied signalized pedestrian crossings and nearby <br />signalized intersections. I provided recommendations such as implementing a new signal Plan during the AM Peak period of a <br />weekday at the two studied signalized pedestrian crossings without adversely affecting signal progression along the studied <br />corridors of SR A1A /Collins Avenue and SR A1A / Harding Avenue. In addition, I recommended optimizing signal offsets during <br />the Mid-day peak period of a weekday and during the Mid-day and PM peak periods of a weekend day at the two studied <br />signalized pedestrian crossings. Recommendations were based on traffic simulations using TranSync software, travel time data, <br />and field observations; Contact: Xaviel Llerena, (305) 470-5303, Xaviel.Llerena@dot.state. <br />Miami-Dade County | Geometric Lane Reconfiguration at SW 152nd Avenue from SW 312th Street to US-1 (2022) | In this <br />traffic study, I conducted LOS and queue analysis for existing and proposed conditions using synchro 11 and Simtraffic software. <br />I evaluated traffic operations of proposed conditions which include the implementation of roundabouts at the intersections of <br />SW 152nd Avenue & SW 304th Street and SW 152nd Avenue & Harding Lane, implementation of exclusive left turn lanes along <br />SW 152nd Avenue at the intersections of SW 152nd Avenue & SW 284th Street and SW 152nd Avenue & SW 280th Street, and <br />the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of SW 152nd Avenue at SW 280th Street. Finally, I was responsible to provide <br />conclusions and recommendations based on the findings of the above-mentioned evaluations for this traffic study before it was <br />submitted to Miami-Dade County; Contact: Gabriela P. Ramirez, (305) 535-7727, gabriela.ramirez@kimley-horn.com. <br />FDOT D6 | SR-823/Red Road from W 16th Street to W 44th Place and SR-969/ Milam Dairy Rd/ NW 72nd Avenue from <br />NW 75th Avenue/ Corporate Way to SR-934/ NW 74th Street Conn Signal Retiming (FDOT) (2022) | This year, as part of a <br />contract with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), I was assigned with the signal optimization of two corridors <br />within Miami-Dade County boundaries. In these traffic studies, I conducted field reviews to assess existing traffic conditions and <br />operations to identify deficiencies and opportunities to improve traffic conditions during the mid-day period. I evaluated red and <br />yellow clearance intervals to ensure adequate time was provided. Signal offsets and time of day (TOD) schedules were <br />evaluated to find any issue that could negatively affect progression along the studied corridors. I provided recommendations for <br />optimizing signal cycles, offsets, and TODs to improve signal timing progression within the studied corridor. Recommendations <br />were based on traffic simulations using TranSync software, travel time data, and field observations. I evaluated red and yellow clearance intervals, signal offsets, and time of day (TOD) schedules. I <br />provided an analysis of traffic growth factor based on historical FDOT AADT data. Following FDOT and Miami-Dade County <br />guidelines, I evaluated existing turning movements counts to recommend exclusive turn lanes at movements where <br />requirements for the implementation of turn lanes were met. I provided LOS and queue analysis of current and proposed <br />conditions using synchro 11.0 software;Contact: Gabriela P. Ramirez, (305) 535-7727, gabriela.ramirez@kimley-horn.com. <br />FDOT D6 | SR 968/West Flagler Street at W 24th Avenue for FDOT (Districtwide Traffic Operations Consultant) (2020) | In <br />this study, I conducted field reviews to assess existing traffic conditions and operations to improve pedestrian safety during <br />arrival and dismissal periods from Miami Senior High School. I evaluated existing movements counts of vehicles and <br />pedestrians. I conducted a crash analysis of the last five years to identify any trend related to pedestrian crashes. I evaluated <br />existing and proposed conditions using synchro 10.0 software. Finally, I provided recommendations that included the <br />implementation of an exclusive pedestrian phase at the studied intersection, the implementation of a pedestrian channelization <br />barrier, and the relocation of a bus stop.
