<br />Traffic Signal Timing and Optimization Studies - Project Engineer | Aimed at improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and
<br />enhancing safety at intersections through the collection and analysis of traffic volume data, patterns, and existing signal
<br />operations to identify inefficiencies. Responsibilities included optimizing signal phases—such as green, yellow, and red times—
<br />and coordinating signals across multiple intersections to create green waves for smoother traffic progression. Utilized traffic
<br />simulation tools, when necessary, to evaluate and validate timing adjustments. Provided data-driven recommendations to
<br />reduce delays, improve safety, and support efficient traffic management strategies.
<br />FDOT D6 | SR 968 / West Flagler Street at W 24th Avenue Through data collection, field inventory, Model Simulations, and
<br />crash analyses, Mr. Romero evaluated the implementation of an exclusive pedestrian phase due to the significant number of

<br />south pedestrian crosswalk facility to support pedestrian travel along the west leg of the intersection of SR 972 / SW 40 Street
<br />/ Bird Road at SW 72 Avenue. Said evaluation was performed through data collection and VIISM / VISTRO simulations. Said
<br />effects entailed the need for an eastbound left-turn bay storage length assessment, red/yellow clearances, and signal timing

<br />and post-special-event traffic. Includes key sheets, lane closure analysis, project layout, tabulation of quantities using FDOT pay

<br />Heron Bay Community | Master Transportation Plan and Traffic Calming Improvements Design Project (2016-Present) |
<br />Evaluated existing conditions of a community of 2,200 units in NW Broward County, including improvements to existing roadway
<br />network quality for residents and visitors. Responsible for the design of proposed improvements, including assessing gate
<br />entrance protocols, traffic calming strategies, and design of sidewalks and ADA ramps; assisted with the preparation of

<br />Iron Triangle NW 36th St/NW 42nd Ave Interchange Feasibility Study (2016-2019) | Project provided alternatives for
<br />improvements at the interchange of SR-112/Lejeune Rd and Okeechobee Rd. Included evaluation of existing conditions, traffic
<br />data collection including big data evaluation for origin-destinations (HERE, Bluetooth, Streetlight), and operational analysis
<br />microsimulation model development. Provided documentation for Design Traffic Technical Memorandum (DTTM), and assessed
<br />conceptual improvements for Tier 1 and 2 including long- and short-term improvements. Provided final recommendations,
