<br />Christopher Bennett is a skilled civil engineer with 25 years of experience in infrastructure design,
<br />construction management, and quality assurance/quality control for municipal and transportation
<br />projects. His expertise includes overseeing roadway resurfacing, full-depth reconstruction,
<br />stormwater and utility installations, and right-of-way improvements. As former Assistant Director of
<br />Public Works for Miami and Fort Lauderdale, he has led large-scale capital improvement programs,
<br />including Fort Lauderdale’s $250M infrastructure upgrade and Miami’s $400M Miami Forever Bond
<br />program. Christopher has directed stormwater master planning, utility coordination, and compliance
<br />efforts, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. With a strong background in

<br />City of Fort Lauderdale, River Oaks Neighborhood Stormwater Improvements, Fort Lauderdale,
<br />FL: Project Executive/QA Manager. Located between Davie Road, SW 9th Avenue, SR-84, and I-95,
<br />this project was the largest stormwater infrastructure upgrade in the city’s history aimed at reducing
<br />flood risk and improving water quality for runoff to the New River. Scope included installation of
<br />26,000 LF of HDPE and RCP drainage pipe ranging from 12” to 72”, over 300 drainage structures,
<br />exfiltration trenches, outfall energy dissipators, water quality structures, tidal backflow prevention
<br />valves, and creek/canal dredging. Additional improvements involved the relocation of existing water
<br />and sewer lines, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, pavement restoration, landscaping enhancements,
<br />and swale reconstruction.
<br />City of Fort Lauderdale, Durrs Neighborhood Stormwater Improvements, Fort Lauderdale, FL:
<br />Project Executive/QA Manager. Project enhances neighborhood-wide drainage infrastructure to
<br />reduce flooding and strengthen the area’s overall climate resilience, improve drainage efficiency, and
<br />enhance community accessibility and safety. Scope included installation of 35,000 feet of stormwater
<br />pipe, more than 250 drainage structures, and exfiltration trenches to improve flood management.
<br />Additional improvements included relocating existing water and sewer lines, reconstructing swales,
<br />pavement restoration, and installing new sidewalks to enhance neighborhood connectivity.
<br />City of Fort Lauderdale, Edgewood Neighborhood Stormwater Improvements, Fort Lauderdale,
<br />FL: Project Executive/QA Manager. This neighborhood-wide stormwater improvement project
<br />reduces flooding, enhances stormwater management and water quality, and improves neighborhood
<br />sustainability. Scope included installing over 5 miles of RCP and HDPE drainage pipe ranging from
<br />15” to 66” in diameter, along with more than 350 stormwater inlet & manhole structures. Additional
<br />improvements included utility relocations, tidal backflow prevention valves, exfiltration trenches,
<br />landscape restoration & enhancement, and roadway re-grading and pavement restoration to reduce
<br />flooding and enhance stormwater collection and conveyance. Upgrades provide more efficient water
<br />discharge and long-term flood mitigation for the community.
<br />City of Fort Lauderdale, River Oaks Pump Stations, Fort Lauderdale, FL: Project Executive/QA
<br />Manager. Project involved the construction of two (2) stormwater pump stations with capacities of
<br />66,000 gallons per minute (GPM) and 10,000 GPM, along with coffer cell and native landscaping
<br />and fencing within and around the River Oaks Stormwater Preserve. The project also included
<br />installation of collection system piping to connect the pump stations to the neighborhood’s
<br />stormwater infrastructure and a major outfall pipe into the New River. The project provides flood
<br />protection, improves water quality, and enhances sustainability for the River Oaks and Edgewood
<br />neighborhoods and restored the Coconut Canal’s drainage capacity.
