Fernandez, PE <br />TRAFFIC STUDIES <br />Darlene’s experience includes the following: <br />Hiatus Road Traffic Study, Sunrise, FL: Project Manager/Senior Engineer. Conducted a traffic study <br />that provides improvements to Hiatus Road from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard. Hiatus <br />Road was designed as a new roadway connection between Sunrise Boulevard and Oakland Park <br />Boulevard, providing a north–south link intended to alleviate traffic congestion on Flamingo Drive and <br />Nob Hill Road. The project included traffic engineering services related to the Traffic Flow Modification <br />on Hiatus Road from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard and the evaluation of a street <br />closure on the northern end of the project. The analysis consisted of data collection, trip generation, <br />trip distribution and traffic assignment, traffic forecasting, the evaluation of Broward County SERPM <br />model to determine the growth factor with and without the project, field observations during the AM <br />and PM peak periods, and the technical memorandum documenting the findings and recommendations <br />from the study. Responsible for all aspects of this study including the traffic analysis, implementation <br />and preparation of technical memorandum, QA/QC, and coordination with client. <br />Broward County Convention Center and Hotel Expansion Traffic Study, Fort Lauderdale, FL: Project <br />Manager/Senior Engineer. Conducted a traffic study to determine the existing Broward County <br />Convention Center traffic prior to the hotel expansion. The analysis included evaluating existing and <br />future traffic conditions, traffic data collection, adjustments to the traffic data with the peak season <br />factor, operational analysis on SE 17th Street, which includes eight intersections, with and without <br />the Convention Center traffic. Responsible for all aspects of this study including implementation <br />and preparation of technical memorandum, QA/QC, attendance at meetings with the County, and <br />coordination with client.
