<br />David Sigler, PE
<br />Electrical/Lighting Design
<br />David has 10 years of experience working with several agencies, including FDOT,
<br />GMX, Miami-Dade County, Monroe County, and the cities of Doral, Miami, and
<br />Pembroke Pines. David has been the lead electrical and lighting designer on several
<br />projects, including major reconstruction, RRR Projects, and safety studies. He
<br />has also worked on the design of lift station facilities with emergency generators
<br />and commercial buildings. David has experience in projects with the conventional
<br />design-bid-build procurement process and design-build procurement process.
<br />Because of his experience and willingness to learn, he is an invaluable asset and has
<br />become an effective leader and team member. Representative project experience
<br />includes:
<br />Greater Miami Expressway, FL, NW 87th Avenue Interchange Reconstruction.
<br />Assistant ITS/lighting project engineer for the larger reconstruction effort involved in
<br />this project, providing lighting and ITS design services. The project limits extended
<br />from NW 92nd Avenue to NW 82nd Avenue. CHA designed an entirely new lighting
<br />system within the project and on all new ramps. The new system was comprised of
<br />21 high mast lights, 71 lighting poles, 20 under-bridge deck luminaries, and 2 service
<br />points. As part of our responsibilities for the new lighting system, we also provided
<br />lighting calculations, voltage drop calculations, illumination reports, a quality
<br />control plan, and shop drawing review/approval. CHA also provided ITS, gantry
<br />design, and technical support. Our design called for installing nearly 7,200 feet of
<br />144-strand fiber optic cable and 4,400 feet of 12-strand fiber optic cable, along with
<br />over 134 splices and 8 CCTV cameras. This design provides communication with the
<br />existing Florida Department of Transportation Fiber Optic Backbone.
<br />Florida Department of Transportation - District 6, FL, SR 25/Okeechobee
<br />Road Reconstruction, FPID No. 423251-5-52-01. Assistant ITS/lighting project
<br />engineer for SR 25/Okeechobee Road reconstruction using rigid pavement. The
<br />scope of this project included grade separation over NW 116th Way, reconstruction
<br />of NW 116th Way from SR 5 to the entrance of Hialeah Gardens, realignment and
<br />widening of Frontage Road, reconstruction of NW S. River Drive, improvement of
<br />pedestrian and bicycles facilities, designing nine new intersections and evaluation
<br />of existing ones, and ITS development as per master plan including ADMS, CCTV,
<br />MVDS, and TTS.
<br />Florida Department of Transportation - District 6, FL, SR 909/W Dixie
<br />Highway (South of NW 129th Street to North of NE 151st Street), FPID No.
<br />443936-1-52-01. Electrical engineer for this RRR project that included the milling
<br />and resurfacing SR 909/West Dixie Highway, replacing deficient ADA ramps,
<br />removing stamped asphalt crosswalks, replacing damaged sidewalks, documenting
<br />existing deficiencies infeasible to correct in design variations, and significant
<br />access management modifications, including extending medians and constructing
<br />channelization islands. The project included upgrading pedestrian signalization and
<br />push buttons, installing video detection at signalized intersections, backplates,
<br />and a new signalized intersection at SR 909 and NE 9th Avenue. The project also
<br />included lighting retrofits at the new signalized intersection and the modified
<br />existing mid-block crossing at NE 142nd Street.
