<br />FL, Metromover Comprehensive Wayside System Overhaul, Miami, FL.
<br />Electrical engineer for the revitalization of Miami’s essential transit system that
<br />spans 4.4 miles, connecting various downtown locales and key amenities. This
<br />service, operational from early morning to midnight, is set to undergo significant
<br />advancements to meet the evolving demands of its daily commuters and to maintain
<br />its integral role in the urban fabric of downtown Miami. Key upgrades will focus
<br />on the aging signaling, control, and power subsystems, with the introduction of
<br />modern technology aimed at ensuring the system’s reliability and efficiency. The
<br />project extends to the refurbishment of the entire fleet of Metromover vehicles,
<br />aligning them with updated operating systems. Post-upgrade, passengers can
<br />anticipate enhanced reliability, shorter wait times, and the potential for more
<br />dynamic routing options, all contributing to a projected extension of the system’s

<br />Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department, FL, Central District
<br />Wastewater Treatment Plant (CDWWTP), Miami, FL, Electrical Distribution
<br />Building 2. Senior project engineer for the detailed electrical design of a new
<br />electrical distribution building to serve existing and new substations in the north
<br />area of the plant. The project includes 13 KV duct banks for FPL power service and
<br />distribution to substations located throughout the plant, a substation load study,
<br />a 10-engine-generator system with a fuel storage facility, SCADA and fire alarm
<br />systems, and a sequence of construction to minimize power disruptions. Reference:

<br />Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, FL, 13-WASD-03 PSIP PS 0300
<br />(Opa Locka, FL). Electrical engineer for this project that consisted of rehabilitating
<br />and upgrading Pump Station 0300, an important booster facility that suffered a
<br />catastrophic disaster when a dresser coupling failed and flooded the station. CHA
<br />was selected to create a BODR and design the upgrade of the pump station, which
<br />includes five 600 HP pumps, operating in a flow range of 7,000 to 31,000 gpm, which
<br />collects sewage from a 72-inch influent pipe and discharge into a common header
<br />that joins a 48-inch force main. CHA performed several analyses of the existing
<br />conditions, including hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural,
<br />to determine the various possibilities and implement the most practical and
