He has 31 years of experience successfully managing, designing and delivering bridge and structural engineering projects as part of highway, transit and railroad projects throughout GA and the Southeast. Jim’s experience includes large, multi-disciplined design projects; bridge design task orders; design review task orders; and on-call construction support services. He has experience managing multi-discipline project staff, large and complex project budgets, and developing innovative and cost-effective solutions as a project manager. Representative project experience includes: City of Miami, FL, A&E Services for Seawall Replacement. QA/QC structural engineer responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of the replacement of three existing seawalls at various locations in the City of Miami. Jim was in charge of developing and implementing QA/QC processes and ensuring that all design activities met the required standards. City of Miami Beach, FL, A&E Services for Seawall Replacement. QA/QC structural engineer responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of the replacement of three existing seawalls with a new post and panel seawall system along Collins Avenue on the Intracoastal side of Miami Beach. Jim was in charge of developing and implementing QA/QC processes and ensuring that all design activities met the required standards. Miami-Dade County, FL, Metro Mover Rejuvenation. QA/QC structural engineer tasked with ensuring the quality and compliance of the installation and extension of elevated switch platforms connected to the existing metro system for electrical equipment upgrades. Jim was responsible for establishing and executing QA/QC procedures and verifying that all design activities adhered to the required standards. All Aboard Florida (Now Brightline), Orlando, FL, Highspeed Rail Project, Orlando to Coco Beach Segment. Senior structural engineer and task manager for the design of bridges along this 40 mile highspeed rail corridor. Jim lead the design team responsible for the construction of several bridges on the project including over the Econlocktahatchee River and St. Johns River. The design required new bridge piers in these rivers and deep pile foundations design for Cooper E-80 Train loading. Jim was responsible for overseeing the design and detailing of the plans for these structures and ensuring QA/QC for the finished designs. Florida Department of Transportation - District 6, FL, SR 25/Okeechobee Road Reconstruction. QA/QC structural engineer for this major reconstruction of SR 25 to provide grade separation at the intersection of NW 116th Way. The project includes 9 new signalized intersections with 31 mast arms. Fourteen of these mast arms required a special foundation design. Dates: 08/2015- 04/2016.
