Curb replacement and regrading were <br />also part of the scope. The purpose of the project was to replace infrastructure in disrepair, <br />improve surface ponding, replace damaged curbing and asphalt, and to relocate water mains <br />and meters to the front of properties for future maintenance access and monthly readings. <br />Coordination played a major role with the affected residences in terms of temporary water <br />shutdowns, maintenance of traffic, staging of equipment and materials, work on private <br />property, and restoration. <br />The project included over 3,000 LF of 4” and 10” water main inclusive of services, valves, <br />hydrants, and fire lines, 700 LF of sanitary sewer with manhole structures and laterals, 600 LF <br />of 15” drainage piping with new structures, 5,000 LF of curbing, and asphalt resurfacing. The <br />majority of water services were relocations from the back to the front of each property, requiring <br />horizontal directional drilling of new services within private property. Most water main was <br />installed by a combination of pipe bursting and horizontal direction drilling. <br />CGA’s role in the project included design, permitting, incorporating Geotechnical and <br />Subsurface Utility Exploration (SUE) findings, bidding support services, coordinating and <br />conducting a preconstruction meeting with all stakeholders, reviewing shop drawings, <br />addressing Contractor RFI’s, conducting full-time inspections, overseeing testing, reviewing <br />payment applications, managing the Contractor’s schedule, reviewing record drawings, closing <br />permits, and final project certification. <br />PHASE 3A INFRASTRUCTURE AND ROADWAY <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />Bal Harbour, FL
