(CGA) was retained by the City of Weston to complete <br />a corridor study consisting of a pedestrian safety evaluation and an operational analysis of <br />three (3) intersections along Emerald Estates Drive. The pedestrian safety study extended <br />from approximately 250 feet west of The Palms at Weston (Senior Residential Community) <br />access driveway to approximately 520 feet west of the signalized intersection at Weston <br />Road. <br />The pedestrian safety evaluation included an assessment of the need for a midblock <br />pedestrian crossing in accordance with the criteria established in the 2024 Florida <br />Department of Transportation (FDOT) Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM), a review of the <br />most recent three years of available crash data, and an evaluation of existing operating <br />speeds. <br />The study also included the collection of vehicular and pedestrian traffic data, including <br />24-hour bi-directional traffic and speed counts, 4-hour Turning Movement Counts <br />(TMCs), and 14-hour pedestrian crossing counts. <br />EMERALD ESTATES DRIVE TRAFFIC STUDY <br />Weston, FL
