Jordon is a marine and coastal engineer with more than 22 years of technical
and project management experience, including coastal engineering, beach
nourishment design, waterfront structure design, FEMA coastal floodplain
mapping, shoreline restoration/stabilization design, numerical modeling,
and marina design. His field experience includes underwater waterfront
facility inspections, GIS/GPS data collection and analysis, surveying, and
construction administration. Jordon is a registered Professional Engineer in
the State of Florida, Alabama, and Texas, as well as a Certified Floodplain
Manager.
RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE
City of West Palm Beach Pilot Seawall Elevation Project, West Palm Beach,
Florida. Providing coastal engineering and resiliency consulting services for
a pilot project intended to improve shoreline protection and reduce chronic
flooding risks to critical upland infrastructure caused by sea level rise,
storm surge, and wave overtopping. The project includes replacement of
approximately 1,700 LF of existing seawall at an increased elevation and
incorporation of living shoreline features to enhance ecological performance
and coastal resilience. Services performed include public outreach, concept
development, field investigations, detailed engineering design, preparation of
bid documents, environmental permitting, and construction phase services.
The project is being implemented as a pilot to inform future citywide coastal
flood mitigation and climate adaptation initiatives. The project is currently
in engineering design and environmental permitting to support future
construction implementation.
Citywide Seawall Assessment, City of Pompano Beach, Florida. Provided
coastal and structural engineering services for a citywide condition assessment
of City-owned seawalls to support compliance with local ordinances and inform
long-term flood resilience planning. The project evaluated 15 seawall segments
totaling approximately 2,900 LF to assess structural condition, estimate
remaining service life, and develop preliminary repair and replacement cost
opinions. Services performed included reconnaissance surveys, engineering
dive inspections, and processing of LiDAR data to develop a Digital Elevation
Model. Findings were documented in a comprehensive inspection report
with prioritized rehabilitation and replacement recommendations and
incorporated into the City’s Capital Improvement Plan.
Tidal Flood Mitigation and Shoreline Protection, Hollywood, Florida. Providing
coastal and marine engineering services for a citywide tidal flood mitigation
initiative addressing chronic seasonal flooding and shoreline vulnerability
along North Lake and South Lake. The project includes evaluation of 22
City-owned shoreline segments totaling over 10,000 LF, with site-specific
flood mitigation solutions such as living shorelines, rock revetments, and
bulkheads designed to comply with new Broward County tidal flood barrier
ordinances. Services performed include upland and in-water engineering
inspections, structural and coastal condition assessments, marine resource
surveys, analysis of tide gauge data to determine tidal prisms, lag time, and
