Proven in Practice. <br />49 <br />JORDON CHEIFET, PE, CFM <br />Senior Coastal Engineer <br />water elevation differences, and development of conceptual and engineering designs to inform flood barrier design. <br />Phase 1 and 2 sites are currently under construction, with Phase 3 sites currently advancing through design and <br />permitting, supported by a $18.3 million Resilient Florida Grant secured for project implementation. <br />Sawfish Bay Park Shoreline Improvement, Jupiter, Florida. Providing coastal engineering and environmental <br />permitting services for a shoreline improvement project intended to restore the historic marina basin and improve <br />shoreline protection at Sawfish Bay Park in response to ongoing erosion and resiliency needs. The project includes <br />engineering inspection of approximately 1,000 LF of existing vinyl bulkhead, a marina flushing analysis, a marine <br />resources survey, and design of living shoreline features such as mangrove planters, rock revetments, and reef ball <br />units. Services performed include coordination with the Town of Jupiter and regulatory agencies, coastal engineering <br />analyses, environmental permitting, preparation of bid documents, and construction administration. The project is <br />currently in design and permitting to support implementation that increases coastal resiliency, enhances natural <br />habitat, and meets the Town’s long-term shoreline management goals. The project has been successfully constructed <br />with all permits obtained and compliance requirements satisfied. Future phases for improvements to other sections of <br />shoreline are pending authorization. <br />Currie Park Redevelopment, West Palm Beach, Florida. Providing coastal and marine engineering services for <br />the waterfront components of a major park redevelopment intended to improve public access, resiliency, and <br />ecological function along the Intracoastal Waterway. The project includes marine surveying, engineering design, and <br />environmental permitting for rock revetments, living shoreline features, boat ramp improvements, kayak launches, <br />over-water piers and boardwalks, and terraced “social” steps to the water. Services also include grant implementation <br />support, construction administration, and coordination with the broader redevelopment team to integrate waterfront <br />elements into the overall park vision. The project is currently under construction. <br />Kristi House Shoreline Stabilization, Miami, Florida. Provided marine and coastal engineering services for shoreline <br />stabilization along an eroded portion of Wagner Creek to address ongoing bank failure and protect adjacent upland <br />infrastructure. The project included design of approximately 525 LF of shoreline stabilization consisting of a steel <br />sheet pile bulkhead, armor stone revetment, and transition grading to the existing upland parking area. Services <br />performed included shoreline inspections, scour and wave load analyses, structural and coastal engineering design, <br />and environmental permitting with the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County DERM, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers <br />The project is completed. <br />Bahia Honda State Park Beach Renourishment, Big Pine, Florida. Provided coastal engineering and environmental <br />consulting services for a beach renourishment and dune restoration, restoring approximately 1,000 LF of sandy <br />shoreline to improve storm resilience and public recreational use. The project included beach nourishment, dune <br />plantings, and engineered beach design, supported by detailed topographic and bathymetric surveys. Services <br />performed included environmental permit coordination at the state and federal levels, engineering design, preparation <br />of construction documents, and full construction administration through project closeout. The project has been <br />successfully constructed with all permits obtained and compliance requirements satisfied. <br />Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park Beach Renourishment, Key West, Florida. Provided coastal engineering <br />services for a shoreline restoration project to enhance beach stability and long-term resilience at a historic state park <br />subject to erosion and storm impacts. The project involved renourishment of approximately 1,400 LF of shoreline, <br />supported by coastal engineering analyses to inform beach geometry and performance under future conditions. Services <br />included leading field investigations, performing coastal engineering analyses, managing environmental permitting <br />and sand compatibility analysis, and preparing construction documents. Provided technical support during bidding <br />and key construction phases and coordinated with regulatory agencies to integrate engineering recommendations into <br />broader coastal management planning.
