Jason is responsible for the structural inspection, design, and construction
administration for marine structural engineering projects. He holds a
master’s degree in structural engineering from Stanford University and has
twenty-seven years of experience as a structural engineer including coastal
and marine structures. Jason has completed marine structure projects in the
US and the Caribbean, including ports, fender systems, mooring dolphins,
bulkheads, seawalls, docks and piers. Jason is also a certified diver and
leads the underwater structural inspection team.
RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Arlen House Condominium Seawall Replacement, City of Sunny Isles Beach,
Florida. Served as Lead Engineer for the replacement of approximately
1,140LF of deteriorated seawall along the Intracoastal Waterway at the
Arlen House Condominium property. The project included above- and below-
water inspection, demolition of the existing failing seawall, installation of a
new seawall system, and restoration of adjacent upland areas including a
replacement concrete slab-on-grade for pool equipment. Engineering and
consulting services included structural inspection by engineer divers, marine
and structural design, preparation of construction drawings, environmental
permitting coordination with Miami-Dade DERM, FDEP, and USACE, and
construction administration services. The project has been completed,
providing long-term shoreline stabilization and protection of upland
improvements.
Coastal Towers Seawall and Dock, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Provided
engineering design and construction administration services for the
reconstruction of a 33-slip marina and 1,500 feet of shoreline stabilization.
Scope included seawall rehabilitation, above and below water inspections,
regulatory permitting, contractor coordination, and field monitoring for a
waterfront condominium along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Dinner Key Marina, Miami, Florida. Provided marine structural engineering
design and construction administration for the reconstruction of a municipal
marina damaged by Hurricane Irma. The project included concrete repairs,
replacement of timber finger piers, select prestressed concrete spans on
main piers, timber mooring piles, and associated upland utility improvements.
Services included condition assessments, structural repair design, and
construction phase support. Construction has been completed and the
marina is fully operational.
Fisher Island Ferry Terminals, Miami, Florida. Provided marine engineering at
both ferry terminals to assess the condition of marine structures. Inspections
included visual assessments of over-water platforms, pilings, pile caps, deck
panels, hoists, and seawall elements for deterioration, damage, and stability.
Responsible for condition assessments, design, and construction inspections.
Fisher Island Club South Shore Seawall Replacements, Miami, Florida.
Served as engineering lead for a phased seawall replacement project along
the south shore of Fisher Island to address shoreline deterioration and
improve long-term coastal resiliency. The project includes replacement of
approximately 3,500 LF of seawall in Section 4, 5, 6, and 7, constructed
landward of the existing structure, with evaluation of multiple structural wall
alternatives and coordination with adjacent marina renovations. Services
include seawall engineering design, preparation of signed and sealed
