Assisted in conducting a marine <br />resource survey along the existing seawall to verify if seagrass resources <br />existed in the area of proposed riprap mitigation required by DERM for the <br />seawall replacement project. <br />FDEP Bahia Honda Resilient Road Improvements, Big Pine Key, Florida. The <br />employee access road at Bahia Honda State Park was experiencing continual <br />tidal flooding due to sea level rise. Cummins Cederberg was engaged to create <br />a resilient solution while keeping the road within its current footprint to not <br />impact the surrounding mangroves. An elevated roadway was designed with <br />Geoweb cells instead of a typical gravel road to help mitigate flooding. Using <br />Geoweb cells improves permeability, allows for the use of local infill material <br />to limit costs, extends the life span of the road, and supports heavy vehicles <br />and RVs on the road. <br />FDEP John Pennekamp Dock Improvements and Boat Ramp Repairs, Key <br />Largo, Florida. Project engineer for the design of dock improvements and <br />boat ramp repairs at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. The Park’s dive <br />shop docks were displaying damage from the frequency of dive boats hitting <br />against the dock. The design goal to provide a more robust framing system <br />to withstand dive boat impacts while creating an efficient and economical <br />system. Select existing pilings were chosen to remain based on inspection <br />data to ensure cost limitations were met. Cummins Cederberg has since been <br />engaged for repair and replacement work the surrounding seawalls after the <br />client was pleased with our work at the dive shop. <br />Norseman 5th Street Marina, Miami, Florida. Project engineer involved <br />in the engineering design and construction administration of a travel lift <br />basin platform and bulkhead replacement along the Miami River. Cummins <br />Cederberg was engaged to improve the system efficiency and was able to <br />cantilever the bulkhead to allow for the client to improve the upland area <br />without concern of underground tie-backs. <br />Sea Level Rise Mitigation for Miami-Dade County Parks, Miami-Dade <br />County, Florida.
