RFQ #26-07-01 | 124 <br />Verify As-builts and Utilities - Existing utilities will be researched <br />extensively by collecting and analyzing as-built data, survey <br />information and site investigation. Sub-surface Utility Engineering <br />(SUE) and investigation may be applicable and will be recommended <br />by our team if deemed necessary. Our team will coordinate SUE <br />activities and tasks upon notification. Such investigative efforts <br />can be critical in avoiding costly change orders and delays to <br />the project during the construction phase. The exact locations of <br />existing utility lines are essential to eliminate, or at least mitigate, <br />conflicts with proposed construction. <br />Environmental Contamination / Assessments - Our team’s <br />environmental sub consultant will review each project’s immediate <br />area for potential environmental concerns that would have an <br />impact on design or construction, require permitting, or could <br />impact the project cost or schedule. Our team understands that the <br />potential for contamination in the area could affect a project. We <br />understand that any work being conducted in a contaminated area <br />must comply with the applicable requirements of the Occupational <br />Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection <br />Agency (EPA), and FDEP. All construction activities - including <br />dewatering and disposal of any contaminated materials - will <br />be conducted in accordance with current regulatory policies, <br />procedures, and specifications. <br />F. Development of Design & Construction Documents <br />Our team will ensure that proposed engineering designs conform <br />to the city’s standards of practice, applicable County or State <br />requirements and other jurisdictional design guidelines. <br />Proposed infrastructure improvements will be made to avoid or <br />minimize impacts to existing conditions. Construction drawings will <br />be prepared showing horizontal views and depicting the extent <br />of work. Vertical profile views of proposed infrastructure will also <br />be provided where necessary. The drawings will be developed to <br />proper legibility scale for comprehension by reviewing agencies <br />and entities, as well as for ease and clarity of construction. <br />Technical specifications and provisions for construction will be fully <br />consistent with established design and construction standards and <br />jurisdiction criteria. <br />Preliminary Design & Plans - will be prepared based on the results of our brainstorming sessions, field reviews and discussions <br />with the City’s staff. Our preliminary submittal will include the technical specifications and provisions prepared using standard <br />specification templates and requirements. An AACE Class 3 cost estimate will be prepared at this stage. A review meeting will be <br />held with the city to discuss the review comments. EAC will respond to design review comments. <br />Final Design Plans - will include standard details and special design details as necessary. The 100% bid ready design plans, <br />technical specifications, and bid schedule will include all documentation to facilitate permitting and the bid process. An AACE Class <br />2 cost estimate will be updated for the final bid quantities. <br />Traffic Control and Maintenance of Traffic Plans - Traffic control is extremely important to the success of any project. Although there <br />may exist jurisdictional standards that provide typical application of various situations, it may be necessary to develop Traffic Control and <br />Maintenance of Traffic plans or details that reflect actual project conditions. Our team will ensure that traffic control requirements are <br />addressed, that the needs of all entities affected by the projects are addressed, and that the impacts from construction are minimized. <br />Measures will have to be implemented to ensure access to residences, facilities and businesses during construction. <br />••
