RFQ #26-07-01 | 76 <br /> <br />Sergio Besu, CGC <br />CONSTRUCTABILITY REVIEW <br /> <br />Summary <br />Sergio has over 35 years in Construction and Project Management, with experience related to <br />bridges, roadway, utility relocation, ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) and Open Road <br />Tolling. Sergio has overseen the construction of GMX’s 5-year, $1.2 billion work program. <br />Sergio was the Project Manager for the largest projects in GMX’s history, 83628 and 83605; <br />and he provided oversight of all improvements for the SR 836 corridor. Sergio has experience <br />in claims avoidance and negotiations with contractors, procurement support, and program <br />management; he has not lost a legal case in 17 years with GMX regarding construction <br />claims. Sergio has served as a liaison with Miami-Dade County as the Florida Building Code <br />Coordinator for highway projects that require permits for building facilities. <br />Hard Rock Stadium Pedestrian Bridges <br />CLIENT City of Miami Gardens | ROLE Constructability Review <br />Constructability Review for the design of two pedestrian bridges substructures, and for the <br />MSE wall control drawings for the ramps at both bridge approaches. The bridges facilitate <br />pedestrian access to and from the Hard Rock Stadium which can hold up to 60,000 <br />spectators. The bridge over NW 199th Street is 151’-11” long, while the other bridge over the <br />Turnpike Access Road is 206’-11” long. Both bridge superstructures are simple span, <br />variable-depth walk-thru steel trusses that are 14’ wide. The substructures consist of pile <br />bents with 24” prestressed concrete piles. The bridges approach ramps consist of concrete <br />walkways supported by wrap-around MSE walls. Stairs at the ramp entrances were also <br />provided to facilitate pedestrian access during sport events. <br />East Palm Drive Canal Culverting and Roadway Widening <br />CLIENT City of Florida City | ROLE Constructability Review <br />Constructability Review. The project’s major scope of work consists of culvert installation, <br />pavement widening construction, milling and resurfacing, utilities adjustment and drainage <br />improvement and striping, which mostly runs through residential and commercial areas. The <br />drainage scope included the culverting the existing Florida City Canal with a 91”x142” culvert <br />to widen the roadway. A stormwater management system was designed to provide water <br />quality and quantity. An aeration system was placed within the culvert to meet the required <br />dissolved oxygen levels per permit requirements. An environmental resource permit (ERP) <br />was obtained from South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and Class II and III <br />permits were obtained from Miami-Dade Division of Environmental Resource Management <br />(DERM). <br />Section 5 Interchange 48- Inch Force Main Improvements <br />CLIENT Greater Miami Expressway | ROLE Construction Project Manager <br />Construction Project Manager Provided design services for the relocation of a 48-inch PCCP <br />Force main and installation of a 36 Inch Force Main as part SR 826/SR 836 Interchange <br />improvements.
