RFQ #26-07-01 | 91 <br /> <br />Richard Lopez <br />ELECTRICAL DESIGNER <br /> <br />Summary <br />Richard Lopez is an electrical engineer with over 45 years of experience in power design, utility <br />power distribution design, power consulting and training with emphasis on grounding, <br />lightning/surge protection. He has 20 years of work experience with the electric utility power <br />industry within the USA, including applications engineering for lightning protection products in <br />the USA and Latin America and in electrical consulting engineering. Mr. Lopez has worked in <br />engineering design for traffic control and intelligent transportation systems with the Florida <br />Department of Transportation Districts 2, 4, 6, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, and Greater Miami <br />Expressway Agency. He has being involved with industrial okplants, utilities, <br />communication/cellular companies, medical facilities and transportation. He has also provided <br />training for electrical designers, contractors, and consultants on grounding, lightning-surge <br />protection, power quality, and electrical safety within the US and in Latin America. In addition, <br />he worked on research projects to develop products to enhance commercial power at the <br />Electric Power Research Industry. <br />I-75 Alligator Alley Environmental Project <br />CLIENT FDOT District 4 | ROLE Senior Designer <br />Provided professional engineering design services for the improvement of the existing I-75 <br />Alligator Alley rest area in Broward County by constructing educational amenities within the <br />existing site. Construction of educational amenities requires significant site work to reconfigure <br />existing parking lots, access roads, drainage structures, ITS, utilities, high mast lighting and <br />sidewalks. Proposed educational amenities include an observation tower, boardwalks, <br />walkways, constructed wetlands exhibits, asphalt trails, landscaping, pavilions and hardscape— <br />benches, trash receptacles and drinking fountains). A decorative alligator statue will be <br />constructed adjacent to the wetland plant exhibit. Project included the ITS components for a <br />truck parking availability system, CCTV cameras and fiber optic cable based communications <br />system. Served as the Senior Designer for this Rest Area upgrade project. <br />Districtwide ITS Technical Consultant Contract <br />CLIENT FDOT District 6 | ROLE Engineer <br />EAC is part of the team that is responsible for providing technical support services which <br />includes research and analysis, projects development, concept planning, operation and <br />maintenance, and design support for the District 6 TSMO Program. <br />North Cruise Boulevard Extension Phase IIB & III <br />CLIENT PortMiami | ROLE Senior Designer <br />The project consisted of a new roadway and bridge “fly over” structure. The new roadway and <br />bridge are intended to alleviate adverse traffic flow conditions for the Port’s current and future <br />Cruise Terminal development program. EAC’s role included roadway, bridge, drainage, lighting <br />and utility relocation (water main, sanitary sewer, electrical lines and communication lines) <br />design. Project included the roadway lighting improvements associated with the extension of <br />the North Cruise Boulevard at the Port of Miami. Work also included coordination with Port <br />Miami, lighting vendors, field reviews and other Consultants working on the Project.
