3. Staffing
Erik Schults, P.E. | President
Oak Creek Shoreline Stabilization (Oak Creek, WI)
Erik provided engineering services for the design of a rock revetment shoreline protection system to mitigate
wave-induced toe erosion along Lake Michigan. The project included bathymetric surveying, drone-based
base mapping, and support for grant applications with the State of Wisconsin.
Lexington State Harbor (Lexington, MI)
This project included a condition assessment, marina market analysis, boater survey, and preliminary
planning for renovation and expansion of the 120-slip marina for the Michigan Department of Natural
Resources. Erik designed structural foundations for new marina facilities and evaluated structural loading
scenarios for improvements to the existing bathhouse and associated structures.
Michigan City Electrical Improvements (Michigan City, IN)
Erik evaluated existing dock and electrical infrastructure and prepared preliminary engineering concepts
and cost estimates for replacement of aging marina electrical systems serving multiple dock systems
within the harbor.
Heritage Harbor (Ottawa, IL)
Erik prepared financial feasibility analyses to evaluate project cash flows and investigated grant and
funding opportunities to support waterfront and marina development.
Lake Michigan Shoreline Protection Projects (Michigan)
Erik provided engineering design and permitting services for shoreline stabilization projects across multiple
Lake Michigan properties, including revetment systems, steel sheet pile walls, and helical tieback anchors.
He developed a coordinated solution across five adjacent properties to provide unified shoreline protection.
Southport Marina Hurricane Analysis (Islamorada, FL)
Erik conducted a forensic engineering analysis to evaluate marina dock failures following Hurricane Isaac.
The work involved reverse engineering structural loading conditions, including wind forces, vessel loads,
and dock pile performance, and developing a flexible modeling tool to evaluate various storm scenarios.
South Haven Northside Marina Renovations (Southport, NC)
The Waterfront at Billfish Bay will transform the final undeveloped parcel on Terry’s Cove into a major
waterfront destination featuring an 800-boat automated dry stack marina, 125 wet slips, residential units,
retail space, restaurants, and a public promenade. Erik prepared preliminary engineering drawings for the
multi-story automated dry stack facility and coordinated with crane manufacturers during the design-bid
procurement process.
23RFQ #26-07-01 Edgewater Group
