Edgewater Group has extensive in house experience coordinating regulatory approvals <br />for marine, coastal, environmental, and public waterfront projects throughout Florida. Our <br />team routinely works with USACE, FDEP, SFWMD, FWC, USFWS, NOAA, and local agencies, <br />establishing permitting strategies early so regulatory requirements are considered <br />alongside design, budget, funding, and schedule. Our staff also brings former USACE and <br />USFWS experience, providing practical insight into agency review procedures and potential <br />permitting challenges. <br /> <br />Edgewater also brings significant experience with FEMA funded storm recovery and the <br />Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) Program. Our team understands how permitting, <br />engineering, cost documentation, and funding eligibility must work together and has <br />supported municipalities through post storm assessments, recovery scopes, grant <br />applications, permitting, design, and FEMA review. This combined expertise allows us to <br />identify funding and regulatory considerations early and develop strategies that protect <br />available funding while keeping projects moving forward. <br />Proven Permitting Strategies <br />Edgewater tailors the permitting approach to the specific challenges of each project. For <br />the City of Apalachicola Riverfront Revitalization, a complex waterfront corridor involving <br />multiple properties and construction areas was divided into seven permit sites, allowing <br />simpler segments to advance while more complex areas remained under agency review. <br />All seven state permits were secured in approximately 12 months. For the City of Leesburg <br />Venetian Cove Marina expansion, Edgewater coordinated with USACE, SJRWMD, and FWC, <br />completed a manatee study in response to agency concerns, and incorporated previously <br />unpermitted structures into the authorization. The approximately 14 month process resulted <br />in approval of all additional slips requested by the City. <br />For Compass Landing by Margaritaville Marina, Edgewater completed bathymetric and <br />submerged aquatic vegetation surveys, coordinated submerged land lease modifications <br />and riparian waivers, optimized the marina layout to minimize seagrass impacts, and <br />developed mitigation where impacts could not be avoided. The approximately 20 month <br />process resulted in the necessary local, state, and federal approvals for redevelopment of <br />the hurricane damaged facility. <br />Permitting Approach & Agency Coordination <br />4.
