management of all submittals, requests for information, and
contractors’ payment applications, running weekly progress
meetings and mitigating project cost overruns, and claims. The
project was completed on time and on budget in 2019.
Trap Dock Reconstruction, Chatham, MA. Project Engineer
oversaw all the design and construction for Trap Dock
Reconstruction at the Chatham Trap Dock. The reconstruction
project for the Town of Chatham called for complete removal,
and reconstruction of a new modern fishing pier designed
to meet and exceed climate resiliency as well as suit the
needs of the local fishermen. The new pier was design with a
tropical hardwood greenheart pile foundation, concrete deck
with stainless steel hardware and composite bulkheads and
fendering to maximize the longevity of the new structure, as
well as limit the impact to the adjacent environment.
University of Massachusetts Boston, Harborwalk &
Shoreline Stabilization Project, Boston, MA. Project Engineer
responsible for the site inspection and design of shoreline
stabilization for the connection of the Boston Harborwalk
between the JFK Library and Old Harbor Park. Performed the
wave and wake analysis incorporating sea level rise to design
the shoreline protection.
Fort Point Road and Fore River Avenue Seawalls,
Weymouth, MA. Project Engineer participated in the
investigation and assessment of these aging seawalls and
revetments on the Fore River. Effort included wave analysis,
development of design waves, assessment of overtopping
impacts, armor stone sizing and design of new revetments and
seawalls.
Wild Harbor Bulkhead, Falmouth, MA. Project Engineer and
performed design of this steel bulkhead replacing an existing
deteriorated timber bulkhead in Wild Harbor, Falmouth. The
proposed bulkhead was a cantilever design and the analysis
included an assessment of the impacts of scour on bulkhead
stability.
MassDevelopment - Jodrey Pier Commercial Marina
Expansion, MA. Project included inspection, assessment and
design of expansion of commercial marina and fender system
repairs for an existing pier. Project Engineer and performed
design of marina expansion as well as the fender system
improvements that included fender pile replacement with
Greenheart piles and new timber camels.
Rhode Island Fast Ferry, North Kingstown, RI. Project
Engineer developed design parameters for this new ferry dock
including wave analysis and assessment of the impacts on the
proposed ferry berth. Effort included development of design
waves, assessment of breakwater overtopping and wave load
analysis on the shoreline structures.
Morris Island Cut Dredging, Chatham, MA. Project Engineer
and performed hydrographic survey and eel grass survey at
Morris Island Cut and developed survey plans. Based on survey
findings, performed dredge design and estimation of dredge
volumes to develop project plans suitable for regulatory
applications.
Bass River Dredge Study, Beverly, MA. Project Engineer
to perform a hydrographic survey in accordance with U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers/ Massachusetts Department
Charlestown, MA. Project Engineer/Diver evaluating the
current condition and determining the effort required to
rehabilitate the facility to a functional level. Developed the
vessel loading criteria and determination of requirements for
the lateral design. Efforts for the project included performance
of above and underwater inspection and assessment of the
pier’s 2000-foot perimeter concrete structural slab and steel
pile foundation. The investigation included determination of
improvements required to achieve the original live loading as
well as reduced live loading scenarios of the 50+ year old pier
along with the estimated construction costs. Project is now in
construction of recommended repairs and upgrades.
