Daniel B. Robbins, PE <br />Senior Project Manager, Diver <br />Daniel Robbins is a civil engineer specializing in waterfront engineering services including <br />above and underwater inspections, design, analysis, and construction administration <br />services on a variety of waterfront structures. He has played an integral role in specialized <br />waterfront design projects including State-of-the-Art concrete research. Mr. Robbins has <br />acted as a resident engineer/construction inspector for multiple pier and bulkhead repair and <br />rehabilitation projects throughout the world. <br />PROJECT EXPERIENCE <br />Bridge Inspections <br />N.H. Department of Transportation Routine Underwater Bridge Inspection: <br />Project Engineer-Diver for NHDOT underwater inspection of bridge structures. Over 100 <br />bridges were inspected underwater as part of the contract. All work was completed in <br />accordance with FHWA and NHDOT inspection requirements. Work included Level I, II and III <br />inspections, channel assessments, photo documentation, hydrographic surveys, and report <br />preparation. <br />Waterfront Inspections <br />US Coast Guard Waterfront Facility Inspections – Districts 5 & 9 (Mid-Atlantic <br />& Great Lakes): Senior Engineer-Diver for the above and underwater inspection <br />and assessments of 21 USCG waterfront facilities including over 30,500 LF of bulkhead <br />inspections, inspection of 305 waterfront and shoreside load-bearing structures at 44 <br />installations, and the development of a customized database to organize, track, and <br />eff ectively manage facilities. <br />Hurricane Sandy Damage Assessment at USCG Waterfront Facilities, NY & CT: <br />Waterfront Engineer for the inspection and assessment of eight waterfront facilities in the <br />NY-CT region. The scope required deliverables within 10 working days from award (actual <br />submission was made in 8 working days). The project included providing an assessment <br />on operational capability and collection of damage information in suff icient detail to allow <br />development of construction plans, specifications, and estimates for emergency repairs. <br />Naval Station and Subase Pearl Harbor Waterfront Inspection: Senior Engineer- <br />Diver for the inspection and assessment of 45 waterfront facilities in Naval Station and <br />Subase Pearl Harbor. The inspection of each facility required above and underwater <br />inspections and preparing an inspection report of the facilities including cost estimates for <br />over $125 million in repairs.con <br />Design Services for Shipyard Park, Boston Planning & Development Agency, <br />Boston, MA: Project manager for BPDA Shipyard Park where GEI is providing waterfront <br />inspection, design of repairs, permitting, and construction support services for facilities, <br />including Drydock #2, Pier 4, and Flagship Wharf Bulkhead at Charlestown Navy Yard. <br />Construction is currently ongoing for immediate repairs to Pier 4 including approximately 400 <br />structural pile jackets. <br />Bulkheads <br />MBTA Temporary Stabilization and 30% Design of Remedial Actions for Quincy <br />Ferry Seawall and USS Salem Bulkhead Wall and Wharf Structure, Quincy, <br />MA: Project Manager/Senior Engineer-Diver for the underwater inspection of the bulkhead <br />and wharf structures located at the MBTA’s Quincy Ferry Terminal and USS Salem Wharf, <br />in Quincy, MA. The objective of the inspection was to assess the structural integrity of the <br />bulkhead and wharf structures. The structure was found to be in critical condition.
