COMPRES, PE <br />120 <br />Hallandale Beach Control Station: Stormwater Pump Station and Existing Bridge (Hallandale <br />Beach, FL) <br />Mr. Compres led the structural design of a stormwater pump station at SW 11th Street in Hallandale <br />Beach, FL. Due to spatial constraints, the pump station was strategically positioned within an existing <br />canal, necessitating the creation of a specialized cofferdam. His team engineered a 60x80-foot <br />cofferdam with a height of 35 feet, utilizing sheet piles embedded 30 feet below the canal bed. The <br />design incorporated a top ring beam to counteract lateral pressures from water and adjacent soil, while <br />also facilitating the installation of sheet piles on one side. During construction, Mr. Compres addressed <br />the stabilization of the nearby bridge foundation, which experienced settlement due to equipment <br />traffic. This involved designing additional piles to reinforce the supporting beams at the bridge ends, <br />ensuring structural integrity. <br />Regency House Apartments (Miami Beach, FL) <br />Mr. Compres oversaw structural assessment of an 8-story 57-unit building, performing a visual <br />inspection to document existing conditions and develop recommendations for repair. The scope <br />included a seawall inspection using a Video Ray Pro4 ROV equipped with Blue View multi-beam sonar. <br />Deliverables consisted of written reports, video documentation, photographs, and sonar imagery. <br />Additional investigation involved sounding and marking techniques to accurately determine the extent <br />of concrete deterioration. Based on the assessment findings, comprehensive repair plans were <br />prepared, including structural drawings, engineering calculations, a cost estimate for the identified <br />deficiencies, and structural repair documentation for the adjacent 11-story building located on the <br />project site. <br />North District Wastewater Treatment Plant (NDWWTP) Pretreatment/Sludge Transfer Building <br />Upgrades, Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department (MDWASD) <br />Mr. Compres supervised the structural design for the NDWWTP Pretreatment/Sludge Transfer <br />Building Upgrades for the Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department (MDWASD). His <br />responsibilities included designing an exterior retaining wall to support a new egress balcony, <br />reinforcing new openings, and designing two metal egress balconies and stairs, all supported by a <br />concrete structure and auger cast concrete piles. The design also incorporated two metal canopies to <br />cover both balconies and stairs. Additionally, Mr. Compres supervised the structural plans for the <br />removal of five existing skylights, along with sealing and waterproofing two enclosures (74’ x 12’) and <br />three 8’ x 5’ openings with metal-plated lids. He led the design of a concrete-reinforced diversion box <br />and the construction of a new block wall in the lobby area to enclose several stairs. Furthermore, Mr. <br />Compres oversaw the design of removable passthrough metal pads, attached to a concrete platform <br />for worker safety, designed to be removed since part of the platform was above an existing machinery <br />opening used for cranes. Finally, he supervised the design of a removable metallic lid for the Screening <br />Room. <br />Pump Station No. 592 - Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) Structural Design <br />(Miami-Dade, FL) <br />Mr. Compres played a critical role in designing approximately 2,750 LF of 24-inch force main along <br />SW 147th Avenue, from SW 176th Street to SW 184th Street. His responsibilities included designing <br />connections to existing 12-inch and 16-inch force mains, overseeing an open-cut pipeline installation, <br />and designing a 200-foot micro-tunnel operation to cross a railroad easement. The pipeline continued <br />south, connecting to an existing stub-out at SW 184th Street. <br />2455 Polk St. Buildings -Civil Design & Sewer Connection (Hollywood, FL) <br />Mr. Compres, as the Engineer of Record, provided a set of civil drawings for the design of <br />approximately 950 LF of gravity sewer line to connect the property to the City of Hollywood sewer <br />system for the project. The project included 12 gravity sewer laterals, a water connection detail, paving <br />and drainage, coordination with the building department to determine the connection point, all required
