<br />Eric Rehwoldt is a Geological Engineer and Vice President in GEI’s West Palm Beach office
<br />with over 36 years of consulting experience across diverse public and private market
<br />sectors. Eric is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Geologist in multiple U.S.
<br />states, with project experience spanning numerous U.S. regions— including Florida, Texas,
<br />California, Nevada, and the Mid-Atlantic—as well as more than 50 countries worldwide.
<br />His expertise includes geotechnical, geological, geostructural, and geoenvironmental
<br />engineering, engineering geophysics, as well as automated instrumentation monitoring and
<br />structure condition surveys. Technical specialties include: Geotechnical site characterization
<br />studies; Rock and soil slope engineering/stabilization design and construction; Foundation/
<br />earthwork design and construction; Monitoring Plan development for automated vibration
<br />and structure movement monitoring systems; and Pre- and post-construction structure
<br />condition surveys.
<br />Eric has supported a wide range of project development and construction types, including
<br />coastal and waterway resilience, U.S. embassy complexes, federal and military facilities,
<br />highways, canals, rail, ports, airports, stadiums, mining and mine subsidence mitigation,
<br />quarries, landfills, dams, institutional campuses, and commercial buildings. Eric brings a
<br />collaborative, results-driven leadership style to both internal operations and client-facing
<br />project teams. He champions innovation, market foresight, sound business and ethical
<br />practices, and strong engineering judgment to effectively manage client relationships
<br />and project risk.
<br />PROJECT EXPERIENCE
<br />USACE Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project, Bal Harbour Beach
<br />Renourishment 2025, Miami-Dade County, FL: Structural Inspection/Evaluation Engineer
<br />(SI/EE) responsible for managing pre- and post-construction structure inspections and
<br />implementation of the Vibration Control Program during re-construction of the beachfill
<br />template in accordance with USACE (Jacksonville District) specifications. The Vibration
<br />Control Program involved structural inspections and vibration measurements for 20 high-
<br />rise hotel and condominium complexes and related civil structures adjacent to the beach
<br />renourishment project. Also served in role as Vibration Control Specialist – Alternate and
<br />developed the Vibration Control Plan for the project.
<br />Port Everglades Sand Bypass Project, Excavation of Sand Trap and Rubble
<br />Shoal, Broward County, FL: Structural Inspection/Evaluation Engineer (SI/EE) and
<br />Vibration Control Specialist (VCS) responsible for reviewing and sealing pre- and post-
<br />construction structure condition surveys and reports, the Vibration Control Plan, and
<br />monthly vibration monitoring summary reports in accordance with Broward County project
<br />specifications. The project included clam-shell excavation/dredging of transported sand from
<br />the Port Everglades inlet with coquina limestone bottom. Dredge spoils were deposited in
<br />marine containment areas offshore from the condominium complexes in the Atlantic Ocean.
<br />Structure surveys and vibration monitoring were conducted at existing condominium towers,
<br />parking structures, recreational pool and tennis facilities, and existing rock jetties and
<br />revetments adjacent to the project.
<br />USACE FY25 Indian River Inlet Nourishment, Sussex County, DE: Professional
<br />Engineer (PE) responsible for reviewing and sealing the Structural Monitoring Plan (SMP) and
<br />weekly vibration summary reports in accordance with USACE (Philadelphia District) project
<br />specifications/requirements. The project included dredging at the mouth of the Indian River
<br />at the Atlantic Ocean and depositing sand hydraulically onto the beaches north of the Indian
<br />River inlet. Adjacent structures protected included bridges and park facilities.

<br />County, FL: Project manager and Specialty Engineer of Record for structure inspections/
<br />survey and vibration monitoring for major interchange upgrade project in Orlando, Florida.
<br />Structures inspected and monitored included two fly-over bridges connecting transition
