City of Sunny Isles Beach | RFQ # 26-07-01
COST CONTROL & VALUE ENGINEERING
Successful project delivery requires controlling both construction costs and design costs. KEITH incorporates value
engineering, constructability reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, and cost evaluations throughout planning and
design to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings before construction begins.
Cost estimates are developed during project planning and refined at key design milestones as project scope, stakeholder
input, permitting requirements, and construction considerations evolve. This process allows project costs to be tracked,
validated, and adjusted throughout project development.
At each design milestone, our team evaluates potential errors, omissions, document coordination issues, permitting risks,
and constructability concerns that may impact budget or schedule. Alternatives are evaluated based on constructability,
long-term maintenance requirements, lifecycle costs, and overall value to the Owner.
REPRESENTATIVE COST CONTROL & VALUE ENGINEERING
EXPERIENCE
Huizenga Park Capital Projects CEI Consultant
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
KEITH assisted the Client in a drawings and project audit involving the
full transdisciplinary team, including value engineering, constructability
reviews, operations and maintenance evaluations, and identification of
potential risks and conflicts. This approach supported informed decision-
making, minimized redesign efforts, and enhanced long-term project value.
Key Value Engineering Components
ᄏ Establish project budget
and funding constraints
ᄏ Identify project priorities
and risk factors
ᄏ Confirm scope
and performance
expectations
ᄏ Conduct
interdisciplinary reviews
ᄏ Identify constructability
concerns
ᄏ Review design
coordination and
completeness
ᄏ Evaluate alternative
solutions
ᄏ Assess lifecycle costs
and long-term value
ᄏ Verify project costs
align with budget
objectives
ᄏ Minimize change
orders and rework
ᄏ Support procurement
and bid evaluations
ᄏ Monitor project
costs throughout
implementation
• Operations & Maintenance Analysis • Constructability Reviews
• Early Identification of Design Conflicts • Lifecycle Cost Evaluation
Engineering Inspired Design.56CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES (CCNA)
TAB 4 | APPROACH / METHODOLOGY
