25IWFLFTLD016838.2026 <br />ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES <br />(CCNA) RFQ # 26-07-01 <br />CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL <br />Miami-Dade County DTPW Professional Services for Highway <br />Engineering Services for DTPW - E19-DTPW-12, Miami-Dade <br />County, FL <br />Kimley-Horn was selected in 2020 to serve the Miami-Dade County DTPW on a wide range of planning, design, and <br />management services on an as-needed basis. The primary purpose of this on-call contract is to support the Highway <br />Division of DTPW with planning, design and engineering, public involvement, right-of-way and utilities coordination, <br />construction, project control, estimating services, plans review, and quality assurance for projects in the Capital <br />Improvement Plan funded through Road Impact Fees. Kimley-Horn has successfully completed multiple task work <br />orders through this contract. For each task work order, our firm was responsible for all phases of the project through <br />implementation to achieve quality construction documents, cost, and schedule goals. Several example projects <br />completed under this contract are provided below. <br />South Bayshore Drive from Darwin Street to Mercy Way <br />Kimley-Horn was selected to design roadway and drainage improvements along South Bayshore Drive from Darwin <br />Street to Mercy Way, including a new stormwater management system, new pedestrian and bicycle facilities, improved <br />signalized intersections, and other aesthetic components. The project corridor covers 1.5 miles of an urban collector <br />road. The proposed improvements include roadway reconstruction for harmonization, stormwater facilities, shared- <br />use path (Commodore Trail), lighting, and landscaping. This project involved close coordination with the City of Miami <br />Historic Preservation Board as well as the State Historic Preservation Office, given the corridor’s local scenic route <br />designation. A Cultural Resources Assessment was required to evaluate historical resources along the corridor. As this <br />project discharges to Biscayne Bay, a combination of local, state, and federal permits were required. <br />Dates of Service: 2021–Ongoing <br />Roadway Improvements to SW 152nd Avenue from SW 312th Street to North of Waldin Drive <br />Miami-Dade County DTPW selected Kimley-Horn to develop design plans for roadway improvements to SW <br />152nd Avenue from SW 132nd Street to south of US-1 (approx. 1.84 miles). The proposed improvements include <br />reconstruction and widening of SW 152nd Avenue from a two-lane road to accommodate a curved three-lane undivided <br />section with 10-foot shared-use path on both sides, continuous stormwater drainage system, pavement marking and <br />signage, signalization improvements, and roadway lighting. <br />Dates of Service: 2022–Ongoing <br />Improvements to NW 159th Street from NW 6th Avenue to NE 6th Avenue <br />Kimley-Horn was selected by Miami-Dade County to provide plans for roadway improvements for NW 159th Street from <br />NW 6th Avenue to NE 6th Avenue.
