Construct well-defined crosswalks and equip them <br />with countdown pedestrian signal heads and accessible push-button activation devices. These improvements will <br />promote safer pedestrian crossings, improve driver awareness, and ensure compliance with accessibility and traffic <br />safety standards. <br />Dates of service: 2024–Ongoing <br />Model City Brownsville Bicycle Blvd - FPID 446748-1 <br />The Model City Brownsville Bicycle Boulevard Project along NW 21st Avenue from NW 41st Street to NW 79th Street <br />involved the design and implementation of multimodal corridor enhancements aimed at creating a safer and more <br />comfortable bicycling environment for neighborhood residents. The project included re-striping and re-signing the <br />full corridor, the addition of bicyclist-oriented wayfinding signage, and new pavement markings tailored to support <br />bicycle navigation and visibility. The improvements also incorporated select bulb-out modifications and other geometric <br />refinements to calm traffic and enhance safety at key locations. Extensive coordination with Miami-Dade County <br />DTPW, FDOT, and multiple utility agencies supported the development of construction-ready plans aligned with County <br />multimodal design criteria. These enhancements work collectively to promote bike-friendly mobility, increase corridor <br />safety, and improve the long-term operational performance of this important community connector. <br />Dates of service: 2024–Ongoing <br />N Miami Ave and N 195th St Traffic Circle - FPID 449371-1 <br />The Traffic Circle Improvements at the intersection of N Miami Avenue and N 195th Street for Miami-Dade County <br />DTPW involved the design and construction of a new traffic circle within the County’s public right-of-way, aimed at <br />enhancing safety and traffic operations throughout the surrounding area. The project included, but was not limited to, <br />drainage upgrades, proposed lighting, sidewalk reconstruction, enhanced pedestrian facilities, signing and pavement <br />markings, and extensive coordination with FDOT and multiple utility agencies.
