35IWFLFTLD016838.2026 <br />ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES <br />(CCNA) RFQ # 26-07-01 <br />CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL <br />RiversEdge, Jacksonville, FL <br />Kimley-Horn is currently providing design, permitting, <br />and construction phase services for more than 1,900 <br />linear feet of new seawall and bulkhead along the St. <br />Johns River. The new seawall and bulkhead are a <br />critical piece of new infrastructure for future <br />development of the RiversEdge site. The proposed <br />design had to address the replacement of an existing <br />seawall that is more than 65 years old and has a <br />variety of challenges, including significant <br />deterioration of existing sheet piles and the retention <br />of potentially contaminated soils. Kimley-Horn’s <br />in-house marine structural engineers have prepared plans for the permitting and construction of a new seawall and <br />bulkhead. Kimley-Horn utilized a variety of resources to help shape the proposed design. This approach included <br />evaluation of the findings from the resiliency study, retention of contaminated soils, construction costs, construction <br />methods, future riverwalk and park connections, and the future marina.
