<br /> <br />Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Districts 4 and 6 (D4/6) Districtwide Materials Lab Material Testing <br />and Construction Support - Various Locations Districtwide <br />Construction Services Manager/Senior Materials Engineer. Provide technical support as needed by the FDOT. Our <br />services include but are not limited to asphalt plant inspections for Verification and Independent Verification (IV); <br />performing laboratory testing services in accordance with all applicable standards; delivering samples to resolution <br />laboratories upon Project Administrator (PA) request; notify PA’s and the Department Project Manager (PM) in case of <br />failing materials; provide sampling, testing and reporting on concrete materials ensuring compliance with Standard <br />Operating Procedures (SOP) and applicable contract documents; inspecting and reporting on Pre-Stress/Pre-Cast <br />Production Facilities to guarantee that all materials used on FDOT projects meet the requirements of governing <br />documents and approved QC Program; perform structural concrete evaluation as requested and report any noted <br />deficiencies to the District Structural Materials Engineer; and inspect, sample, test and report on field earthwork activities <br />and other assignments requested by the FDOT. <br /> <br />South Corridor Rapid Transit Parking Garage – Miami, FL <br />Construction Services Manager/Senior Materials Engineer. This project includes the design and construction of a 6-story <br />parking garage with associated site improvement. Terracon provides materials testing services for the project. <br />Terracon’s scope of work in the field includes verification for compliance with contract documents of the items <br />incorporated into the project limited to operations related to earthwork, concrete, and grout. For issues related to the <br />project, the Project Manager is responsible for preparing and submitting invoices according to established deadlines, <br />communicating with the client frequently to make sure services are being provided in a satisfactory manner, being aware <br />of upcoming work to ensure the availability of technical personnel to cover each upcoming assignment, and <br />guaranteeing that deliverables are being provided to the client by established closing dates. A P.E. is responsible for <br />reviewing and approving these deliverables prior to sharing with the client. Field and laboratory reports are distributed <br />in real-time. <br /> <br />I-95 Express Lanes, Phase 3B-2, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 (D4) - Palm Beach County, <br />FL <br />Senior Materials Engineer. I-95 Express Lanes, Phase 3B-2 will extend the Express Lanes north from slightly south of <br />Glades Road to south of Linton Boulevard. The improvements generally consist of converting the existing High <br />Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes and widening that will result in two tolled lanes in <br />each direction. The number of existing general use and auxiliary lanes will remain the same. Access to the Express Lanes <br />will be limited to designated ingress and egress locations. Other improvements consist of milling, resurfacing, and <br />overbuilding of the I-95 general use lanes, roadway widening, drainage, mast arms for signalization, one bridge <br />replacement and two bridge widenings, temporary and permanent retaining walls, sound barrier walls, overhead sign <br />structures, tolling gantries, and associated infrastructure, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Terracon is <br />responsible for providing construction materials engineering, testing, inspections, and Contractor Quality Control <br />(CQC) services for the Contractor. As a member of the design/build (D/B) team, Terracon has performed the following <br />geotechnical engineering services: soil exploration, soil classification, laboratory testing, and standard foundation <br />studies. Terracon is also providing post-design geotechnical services including pile driving analysis (PDA), and drilled <br />shaft and auger cast pile inspections. <br /> <br />State Road (SR) 836 New Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike (HEFT) Ramp Connections – Miami-Dade <br />County, FL <br />Contract Manager/Senior Materials Engineer. Construction materials testing subconsultant providing field and <br />laboratory testing services for the GEC firm for GMX. The D/B project will improve access to the commercial, industrial, <br />and residential areas west of Florida’s Turnpike. The four new ramps will provide connection between SR 836 and the <br />HEFT, facilitating travel between the southwest and northwest areas of Miami-Dade County, access to the Doral area, <br />and access to transit facilities in the area.
