Harrison, P.G. <br />Principal Geologist/QA/QC Review <br />PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE <br />Steven is a principal and a professional environmental consultant for Terracon and its Florida <br />Division. He also serves as the Environmental Department Manager for the Fort Lauderdale and <br />Miami offices. A licensed professional geologist and mold assessor, he specializes in providing <br />responsive, cost-effective, technically accurate, and regulatory-focused solutions to meet clients’ <br />project and operational requirements. <br /> <br />Steven has 37 years of successful experience, continuously exceeding expectations by resolving <br />environmental situations that clients face. Steven’s diverse environmental experience includes <br />the assessment and remediation of impacted groundwater and soil, real estate transactional due <br />diligence assessment (Phase I/II environmental site assessments (ESAs)), storage tank system <br />management, industrial and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) waste disposal, <br />wildlife surveys and compliance assistance with federal and State environmental regulations <br />(SPCC Plans). <br /> <br />PROJECT EXPERIENCE <br />54-inch Diameter Water Transmission Line Installation - Hialeah, FL <br />Senior Geologist/QA/QC Review. The path of construction for the installation of the <br />water main is located within the right-of-way (ROW) of W. 13th Street, extending from <br />the John E. Preston Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at 1100 W. 2nd Avenue, east to W. <br />1st Avenue, where the path continues north to W. 29th Street, west to W. 4th Avenue, <br />and north to approximately W. 53rd Street where it ends. The path of construction is <br />approximately 3.2 miles in length. Terracon provided a Regulatory Database Review <br />and Findings Report to identify potential areas of impact from regulated and/or <br />hazardous substances that could be encountered during the installation of the 54-inch <br />diameter water main. Terracon completed Limited Site Investigation (LSI) activities in <br />2023 that were designed to assess for potential impacts that may have resulted from <br />RECs and/or site concerns. The scope of work assessed for the presence of chemicals <br />commonly associated with the 11 identified facilities of concern at concentrations <br />above laboratory reporting limits in the soil and groundwater samples collected within <br />the ROW (path of construction) adjacent to the facilities of concern. <br /> <br />C-43 West Basin Storage Reservoir (WBSR) - Hendry County, FL <br />Senior Geologist/QA/QC Reviewer. As part of the C-43 WBSR project, the South <br />Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) required the clearing of vegetation and <br />brush from three, non-contiguous former agriculture areas situated near or within the <br />footprint of the future reservoir. The purpose of the effort, at the time of Terracon’s <br />services, was to clear vegetation and expose surficial soils so that they could be <br />accessed for removal and processing in a separate phase of work. Terracon contracted <br />with Southwest Ag Service, Inc. (Southwest Ag) to provide the equipment and labor for <br />the clearing activities. Terracon provided oversight and documented the progress of <br />the clearing effort while continuously observing for the potential presence of <br />threatened and endangered (T&E) faunal species in the work areas. <br /> <br />Hammondville Road Right-of-way (ROW) - Pompano Beach, FL <br />Project Manager. Responsible for oversight and direction of environmental work <br />conducted in association with replacement of municipal sanitary sewer, stormwater <br />and drinking piping within public ROW.
