<br /> <br />Pump Station S-140 - Broward County, FL <br />Project Manager. The project consisted of emergency response services to conduct source removal efforts within Pump <br />Station S-140 to immediately address a release of diesel fuel from an emergency generator at the site. Terracon <br />responded within 24 hours of notification to initiate the successful remediation of impacts to the soil and surface water <br />of the site. The source removal efforts prevented the release from impacting groundwater quality within sensitive areas <br />of the Everglades and the Seminole Reservation. Upon arrival at the site, Terracon collaborated with South Florida Water <br />Management District (SFWMD) personnel to understand the location of the petroleum release and its path of migration. <br />With a clear understanding of site conditions, Terracon’s team developed and immediately initiated source removal <br />efforts to address affected areas while supporting ongoing operations. Source removal/emergency response efforts <br />addressed an area of approximately 1.5 acres. Upon completion of the source removal efforts, Terracon provided a <br />source removal report (SRR) as documentation of the work. The SRR included site maps detailing the excavation and <br />sample locations, analytical results of confirmation samples, and manifests from the disposal of impacted soil and free- <br />floating product (FFP) impacted wastewater. <br /> <br />Southport Turning Notch, Port Everglades – Broward County, FL <br />Environmental Project Manager/APR/QA/QC Reviewer/Senior Geologist. The Southport Turning Notch project is one <br />of the phases for the expansion of berth space and creation of five new berths in Southport by increasing the dimensions <br />of the Turning Notch to accommodate larger cargo ships that will be available to Port Everglades with the expansion of <br />the Panama Canal. This expansion will also create 16.5 acres of new mangrove habitat. For the Southport Turning Notch <br />expansion, Terracon provided the first phase of assessment of a former landfill within in active shipping container facility <br />in advance of proposed construction; assessment included advancement of deep soil borings for lithologic <br />interpretation and soil sample collection and analysis. An evaluation was conducted to assess levels of contamination to <br />designate appropriate disposal and re-use facilities for approximately 3 million cubic yards (cy) of soil. <br /> <br />Opa-Locka Airport Semi-Annual Groundwater Monitoring – Opa-Locka, FL <br />APR/Quality Review. Terracon has conducted semi-annual groundwater monitoring at the Opa-Locka airport since 2017. <br />Field activities were completed in general accordance with the FDEP’s guidance documents. Groundwater samples were <br />collected for laboratory analysis. <br /> <br />Replacement of 12" and 18" Force Main, NE 183 Street and Island Boulevard – Aventura, FL <br />QA/QC Reviewer/Senior Geologist. Terracon supported the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) with an <br />emergency project to install 12” and 18” force mains along NE 183 Street and other areas in Aventura, Florida. Terracon <br />conducted groundwater sampling within the ROW and within easements located within the Admiral’s Port <br />Condominium and two active lift stations to address the potential for groundwater impacts due to the historical activities <br />by a gas works facility. Terracon completed groundwater quality screening approximately every 100 feet including <br />establishing Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) safety protocols for the protection of Terracon employees and the public. <br />Through this expedited groundwater screening, Terracon was able to identify only a limited portion of groundwater <br />impacts in the western portion of NE 183 Street, thereby facilitating the planned construction activities and addressing <br />potential work exposure concerns. <br /> <br />Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Continuing Contract for Waste Cleanup Program - <br />Various Locations Statewide <br />Senior Geologist/QA/QC Reviewer. Terracon provides environmental engineering services to FDEP on an as-needed <br />continuing contract basis. Services support facilities throughout Florida associated with the Waste Site Cleanup Section <br />(WSCS), Site Investigation Section (SIS), Federal Programs Section (FPS), and Brownfields and CERCLA Site Screening <br />(BF/CSS). The scope includes hazardous waste site cleanup; Drycleaning Solvent Cleanup Program services; <br />hydrogeologic investigations to determine the extent and source of groundwater contamination; assessment and <br />cleanup of state-owned lands; Brownfields assessments and source removals; technical review and support for <br />assessment and remediation projects related to chemical or munitions use; CERCLA site assessments; technical support <br />and operation and maintenance (O&M) of National Priorities List (Superfund) sites; investigation and remediation of <br />contaminants of emerging concern; and institutional and engineering controls auditing (ICECAP).
