Rutugandha “Rutu” H. Nulkar, P.E. (continued) <br /> <br /> <br />Codrington Drive Roadway and Drainage Improvement – Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL <br />Project Manager/Project Engineer. The planned project consisted of roadway and drainage improvements for 1,400 linear feet of <br />Codrington Drive. This project was identified in the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea’s 2020 Stormwater Master Plan Update as in <br />need of drainage improvements to alleviate flooding. The planned drainage improvements include inlets and stormwater pipes. <br />Replacement of an existing outfall pipe is also proposed with a larger steel pipe that will function with a future pump station proposed <br />in the 20-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to mitigate sea level rise impacts. The road is proposed to be resurfaced and regraded <br />to facilitate drainage runoff to inlets. An attempt to address flooding in backyards is also planned. The roadway design included <br />speed humps and landscaping for traffic calming. Terracon performed subsurface exploration and geotechnical engineering services <br />including the advancement of test borings and laboratory testing. The firm provided information and geotechnical engineering <br />recommendations relative to subsurface soil conditions, groundwater conditions, site preparation and earthwork, as well as <br />excavation, pipe bedding backfill/compaction. Terracon also conducted subsurface exploration and provided geotechnical <br />recommendations concerning earthwork and the design and construction of a proposed outfall pipe that will be installed <br />perpendicular to Codrington Drive. Rutu managed Terracon’s staff and resources, field investigation, engineering analysis, <br />calculations, and recommendations for the project. <br /> <br />48-inch Diameter Water Main Downtown Loop Closure – Miami, FL <br />Project Manager/Project Engineer. The 48-inch diameter water main will be constructed under railroad tracks and roadway at the <br />Miami Loop, along NW 12th Street between NW 1st Avenue West and NW 1st Avenue East. Terracon provided geotechnical <br />exploration services including drilling borings. The purpose of these services was to provide subsurface field exploration, laboratory <br />testing information, and geotechnical engineering recommendations to assist in the design and construction of the water main. Rutu <br />was responsible for Terracon’s staff and resources, field investigation, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations for <br />the project. <br /> <br />NW 84th Avenue Improvements from 58th Street to 74th Street – Miami, FL <br />Project Manager/Project Engineer. The proposed improvements project includes roadway reconstruction, a proposed stormwater <br />system of continuous interconnected exfiltration trench, utility relocations, sidewalks, curb and gutter, signage, mast arms, and <br />signalization. Terracon performed subsurface exploration (borings and percolation tests) and geotechnical engineering services and <br />provided information and geotechnical engineering recommendations relative to subsurface soil (and rock) conditions, groundwater <br />conditions, and percolation test results. Rutu managed Terracon’s staff and resources, field investigation, engineering analysis, <br />calculations, and recommendations for the project. <br /> <br />Sunrise Pump Station No. 4 Bypass Pipe Replacement – Sunrise, FL <br />Senior Engineer. Pump Station No. 4 provides flood protection for predominantly residential neighborhoods. Terracon provided <br />construction materials testing services for the bypass pipe replacement. The scope of work included earthwork testing, concrete <br />testing, onsite observations, laboratory testing, engineering and reporting services. <br /> <br />Re-use Pipelines and Watermain Extensions – Davie, FL <br />Project Manager/Engineer. The Town of Davie was upgrading its utility systems to allow for growth that was anticipated from two <br />major redevelopment initiatives within the Town utility area. Terracon completed a program of subsurface exploration in connection <br />with the re-use pipelines and water main extensions. The firm also provided engineering services during construction, on an as- <br />needed basis, for the project including: laboratory moisture-density relationship tests for materials used for the utility trench backfill; <br />limerock bearing ratio (LBR) and carbonate tests on the base course materials; in-place density testing on the utility trench backfill <br />and base course materials; and corrosivity testing on in-situ soils disclosed during trenching on utility lines along Broward County <br />roads. <br /> <br />Seawall Evaluation at Pump Station 1 Facility, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) – Miami, FL <br />Project Engineer. WASD planned to renovate the seawall that existed at the time of Terracon’s services due to signs of deterioration <br />along the southeast edge. Pavement areas were also showing signs of heavy deterioration with holes found in the asphalt. Subsurface <br />exploration, laboratory testing, and geotechnical engineering recommendations related to the design and construction of the seawall <br />modifications were provided. The purpose of these services was to provide information and geotechnical engineering <br />recommendations relative to subsurface and groundwater conditions, geotechnical engineering parameters for the design of the <br />new seawall, construction considerations, and hydraulic conductivity of the existing soils.
